On the External Contracts screen, it clearly depicts Aberdeen as being fully submerged by the North Sea!
Is this evidence of human-accelerated Global Warming?
No: not likely.
Is this some sort of bizarre punishment for the Brexit referendum vote outcome?
I don't think so, although, didn't Scotland vote to remain in the EU(?)
I think it more likely that overlays, while compiling the World Map in ETS2, have gotten rather out of kilter (register) in this beta, than was the case in previous versions of ETS2.

Looks fine to me, in fact if I wanted to be pedantic I'd say it was too far inland!

Thank you for your reply. I am playing the Mac OS X version of ETS2 1.28 (Open Beta) downloaded from Steam. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like to me: Aberdeen appears to be out in the North Sea...

You are using a map mod..
Re: ETS2: Evidence Of Global Warming!
Are you using mods that change the background map or/and map mods? If you are, then the mods are the ones to blame for your issue.
Also as per bug reporting rules http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=222&t=16653, the user should only report bugs if the profile used is an unmodded one (never altered by mods).

Re: ETS2: Evidence Of Global Warming!
Yes. I had downloaded a map mod that added roads throughout Italy. I have started a new profile, and will not proceed with it using any mods on that profile at all. I checked the world map with this new profile, and Aberdeen is indeed back on dry land. Thank you to all who have answered my initial post. I am sorry to have wasted everyone's time and energy here.
