You guys consider this Picture legit in comparison ATS/ETS2 Map scale.

If you want a fair comparison, either add all map DLCs for both games; or remove Hungary, Scandinavia and everything east from Szczecin-Poznan-Brno-Bratislava to have a comparison between both base games without any DLCs.

In this case we will compare only the border of the USA compared to Europe.
Do you think the scale is consistent of the US from the size compared to Europe?

Here is a better and more accurate imagery that I just photoshopped. Maps come from bing maps and once scale is set, I just panned over to the other country and took another snap shot without zooming. The first pic is showing the comparison of France and Texas for scaling purposes so nobody can say the scale is off. In yellow are the current US states Ca, Nv, Az and Nm. In red is the current European map that includes Italy which will come in the next 1-2 months. I included both NM and Italy because we know both are set to be in the games. With ETS2 being older, it is a no brainier that the map is larger. ATS needs at the least Ca, Nv, Az, Nm, Or, Wa, Id, Wy, Mt, and Co to stop all this comparison mumbo jumbo. ATS also needs all those Pacific and Mountain states to really put ATS on the map and bring in more gamers like ETS2.

Actually, the scaling is off due to the Mercator projection; this will make areas in the North look too big and the areas around the equator too small...

Mercator scaling my be true but every single map on the internet will indicate the same scaling. Therefore we just need something close which is why I overlaid France and Texas since we know they are similar sized. The outline of the US seemed a bit strange from the op so I included the actual US with its states as an overlay.

Problem is that Mercator make stuff at the poles look a lot bigger than it is. So the scale is off when comparing land near equator with land near the poles.
Its very evident if you take a country like Greenland and drag it down to Africa.
It looks massive on most maps, but its not that big.
