Open-beta for ETS2 did also had a closed-beta time before it even became open-beta.
Who says that ATS would not go that way aswell. You need to wait and see.

Personally, I don't like, and have never agreed with early access games, most of the time its a bit of a con, and an excuse to sell us an even more broken game than usual. Especially from larger developers. While SCS has a proven track record of actually delivering full products, I don't consider them small enough to have to release early to fund development, they already have ETS 2 for that, and know full well that any ets 2 dlc always sells quite well. I would much prefer a finished game to be released from the start, than some broken early access alpha build. We all need to be a little more patient and let SCS get on with what SCS know far more about than 99% of us around here, and that's building games, and let them do it how they see fit to do so. Maybe they will release an early build when they're ready. But personally I hope they hold off until its polished, and finished product. Until then we have ETS and its expansions and mods to fulfil our trucking needs.

I wish there was an early access right now at least i could be playing while they work on it....dont like early access?? then dont buy and wait until "final release" ..me im so tried of waiting..looks very playable, bored of cab-overs and europe god damn it...

It's all Micro$oft's fault. They started that "sell now \ patch later" BS, using paying customers as beta testers for programs that are only 2\3's completed when sold. That's why I never buy a new version of Windows immediately after release. They're never finished when sold.

The very ones with no patience harking on about early release, alpha, beta etc. etc. etc., would be the same ones right at the front of the Q criticising SCS for lack of content, quality and any errors, probably thereafter suggesting they should have waited until it was more completed before release.

Well theres 2 kind of people,the ones who want the game ASAP (doesnt matter if bugs) and the ones who waits for a "perfect" release

This is why early access exist: to give people CHOICES ..either you buy the early access OR you wait until its "done"

If ATS would have been early access i would be in first one to buy it at least 3 times.

The early access thing takes it further. At least with Microsofts way of doing it, you have a full featured if buggy program/game. With early access its more "hey i have an idea" and you get like 1 track and 1 car at the start. It was a nice idea to help smaller studios finish games that would never get funded by a publisher. It can drive innovation, because the players could decide whats worth buying in to. It's worked very well for some games, with dedicated guys behind them. Assetto Corsa, for example. That started life as an early access game, now its a complete product, and a very highly regarded racing sim. The problem is for every Asstto corsa, there's dozens of half cooked games that never get finished, some barely even worked on from the original early access build.

imo any studio (like SCS) who doesn't need to release on early access are just abusing the system. SCS can manage quite well on ETS 2 DLC and content. Plus when you buy in to an unfinished game your practically an investor, yet you never see any returns on that investment, you just buy it "early" and its a much bigger risk than people realise, since most never get completed, and a lot of things can go wrong. I just think people need to learn patience, and enjoy what we have. If your sick of playing ETS find something else, but then again, Don't expect ATS to be massively different. From what I've seen its ETS 2 in America, any new features one gets the other is going to get.

I think only among those who want a free beta, alpha etc. but we which want to have to pay quite well know what and why we are want and dreams it.
