Movement of overtaking unrealistic

#1 Post by MartinoPio » 04 Mar 2014 16:03

This is not a real bug, but I think, however, should be posted here.

I do not know if I'm clear, I hope so. In the game, when you want to make overtaking a car (while it is in motion and at a distance), the curve is very visible for the transition to the next lane while in reality, it is imperceptible (the curve).

I agree Martino, but it's early days, and probably something that will be corrected in time. Just backed up my profiles and downloaded the 1.8.2.5 patch so I've got a 'normal' version to play if I get too many bugs with 1.9.2s, which I'm about to try :D

well, maybe...
but, tbh, that is exactly how I overtake... :D
I go really close to the car in front and, if I see there's enough space, I quickly change lane and proceed ...
Retired, but still loving it.

Exactly what I thought, I don't like that "drastic" line the AI uses to overtake :)

I think the motion depends on the speed, as higher is the speed, will be largest the motion.

This does not happen in the toll booth. In the tollbooth AIs move from one lane to another with more realism and go slow.

Sometimes it seems that AI cars are moving sideways  Perhaps they should add more curved line for the overtaking; but again, that's why this patch is in Open Beta stage ATM

Well at least they don't appear to fly round street corners at full speed like they used to :o . Try that in real life and you'll roll  . I've still to try it out, but the real test will be when you need to stop at the roadside and reverse into a construction site. Going by what I've seen, they should overtake you, or at least stop well back to allow enough room. The AI respond to indicators now, but will they heed reversing lights? Ummm, time will tell........ :D
