[1.9.20] AI not merging like video?

One of the things that i saw in the video on the SCS blog was the AI traffic merging in traffic like the real deal on places where the road gets smaller. I'm now playing a Vanilla game, but traffic does not do that. Even when i'm standing still on the end of the lane they just stop behind me.

I've tried it at multiple places, but it acts the same everywhere.

The thing that bothers me is that the AI still slam into the side of your truck when you're alongside them . They're in the merge lane indicating to move out, then just as you're passing them, bang . To take your point though, I must say I've never actually tested that situation.
