Greetings

I suppose this post is pretty self-explanatory since this is an introduction thread but popped in to say hello to all of you. I joined so that I could throw my support in the hat for a PS5 release of ATS or ETS 2. I was only recently made aware of the series through a YouTube video and was genuinely surprised at how much positive attention the two games get. Happy to be here and thanks for having me.

Hello, all!

I'm Maverick. I'm 35 years old as of this post, and live in the state capital of Florida (Tallahassee). I've always liked maps and am a bit of a road geek. I've been to quite a few places in the US, from Virginia out to Oregon and Washington state, and even to Alaska. Outside of the US, I've been to Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman, with a trip to Spain and Ireland happening in just under a week from now.

I discovered American Truck Simulator via YouTube--through videos mostly by Jeff Favignano and MikePettGaming (formerly ModdedATS). I bought the game in the middle of April this year and have been hooked ever since. I own all of the map DLCs for ATS as of this post (Nebraska), and am planning on buying Arkansas, Missouri, and Iowa when they release. I'm also planning on buying ETS2 in the future, as well as its map DLCs.

My other interests include meteorology (which also is my IRL professional field), sports, technology, among other things. I'm pretty good with Spanish too, from growing up in South Florida and taking classes. Of the truck brands in-game...I drove a Western Star 49X for the longest but now I think I'm starting to really vibe with the Volvo VNL. I'm pretty eager to learn about the trucks on the Euro side of things once I get the game!

That's all about me for now. Hope to see you all around the forums!

My name is Jonathan and I hail from Knoxville, TN. 41 years old. I drive on ATS using a Logitech G29 wheel and dual 3Drap.it hand controls. Left hand thumb controls clutch, right hand thumb controls accelerator and brake. I have to use hand controls due to a spinal cord condition that means my legs don't work. I'm unable to drive in real life due to no depth perception and intermittent blurry vision. I was bored one day and looking on steam for free games to play and ran across the ATS demo. I decided within a few minutes of playing that I wanted to buy the game. Best decision I ever made. I'm obsessed and play this game every day. I also have ETS2 that I've dabbled with, but I love ATS.

Hello, I'm Mercurius360.

I'm 42, from Maquoketa, Iowa, working at the Kwik Star truck stop, where I see truckers come and go.
I've done some modding myself, including skins and navigation sounds, thanks to some tutorials and help.

I'm currently driving ATS/ETS2 with my Logitech G29 on the Next Level Racing driver stand. Am going to use Meta Quest 3 for VR play of these games, and buying the HORI Truck Steering set to replace it with a full-experience of a trucker that my late father, who passed away in 2008, wanted to.

My main truck is the Freightliner Cascadia, but am willing to try other trucks when I can.

Can't wait to see the Iowa DLC soon. ;)

Hello, everyone

I'm James, 41 years old and I've been playing ETS2 since 2013 and ATS since 2017. I have over 4k hours on ETS2 and 2,400 hours on ATS. Well, it looks like I've used up quite a bit of time in both games hahaha

I have all the DLC maps, trailers and tuning and I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Arkansas.

My English isn't very good so I use the online translator, so I apologize for any strange things or mistakes I make.
sorry for my bad english

Hey all,

Mojo here. I live in IL, Usa. I have been playing Ats since it was released, playing Hard Truck series before that and probably owned all of them. Favorite one was hard truck 18wos.

Hi everyone. After years of lurking I decided to register. I'm definetly not new to forums and I have been playing ETS2 or ATS for quite some time.

I prefer to drive DAF trucks in ETS2 and ATS I got myself a nice Peterbilt 579.

Greetings.

I guess I'll get the preliminaries out of the way - you'll likely grow to dislike me.

I am straight-forward, blunt, sarcastic and have a very small tolerance for mickey mouse behaviour like narcissism, intellectual/moral superiority and egoism. Web forums seem to bring that out of a lot of people real easily.. an observation over the many, many years.

I am going for my CDL real-world. I've always enjoyed transport - used to work as a vehicle delivery driver for dealerships back before "the thing" forced us all to reset our lives. Before that delivered food (among many other oddjobs).. now I cook the food.

ATS is my new addiction. I also enjoy stock car racing in iRacing, and hooning about Tokyo in Assetto Corsa in low-powered sports cars.

I enjoy "modding" (if you can call editing text files modding, lul), and some of my "mods" are available on my Steam Workshop. Same username. All of my mods are free to edit as you fit - I'm not one of those crazies that tries to take ownership over .def file edits. I'm also critically anti-paid mod - if SCS tools or resources are used in the creation of a mod, SCS owns it. No argument. If blender is used in the creation of a mod, the author owns the .blend file and nothing else. No argument.

Now you know me and can deduce whether you want to interact with me or not. That decision is up to you.
abzy.

Greetings.

First, I want to fully emphasize what my purpose is here on the forums, and I do want to contribute to SCS' work in many beneficial ways. I am all for new cargo and new trucks, difficult as it may be as the trucks themselves are licensed, but I am an advocate for the word called "variety". Creativity and providing variety is a wonderful thing, and with their recent work on both ATS/ETS2's expansions plus the base game's rework, it shines in flying colors. The very same key word applies to a multitude of assets and vehicles.

My other skill is bringing out new AI vehicles. Yes, I am aware that street cars/traffic are also handled by the vehicle team, and there are feature suggestions for that type of vehicle. I say this because I have immense knowledge of just about every car that I can think of, at least in the United States. Of course, it has its own caveats and limitations, and all of this will be outlined in the currently active traffic car wishlist thread in ATS. Far as I know, there isn't a traffic car wishlist thread for ETS2, and I plan to add it to the relevant hub soon.

I have an extensive history with console games prior to ATS/ETS2, and for a long time I was a fan of Xbox and its racing franchise, Forza. I was a huge fan of the Forza franchise for years. That love even included the open-world Forza Horizon series since its first entry in 2012. Why? Because it was the black sheep of the sim-cade genre. Whereas other racing games are usually relegated to sports cars, supercars and race cars of various varieties, Forza stood out by offering a plethora of weird and wonderful car types in addition to the usual car varieties, such as limos, vans, even a massive truck in the later Horizons. I've played most of its legacy library and own a couple of legacy Forza games as of this writing. Alongside that were other driving/racing games I played that have been lost to the sands of time, such as Midnight Club, Driver, and even the Project CARS series.

I've actually got a history with SCS' own wares before. I had a physical copy of American Long Haul back in late 2008, a brief stint with Haulin', the original Euro Truck Simulator, and since 2021, now owned both ATS and ETS2 (plus all of its available DLC expansions), plus the aforementioned ALH game on Steam. I love both ATS and ETS2, and I want to support these projects further, especially the former.

Why was I brought here? Steam didn't like the way I was posting my comments.
