Driving Force GT

#1 Post by Peasmarsh » 15 Aug 2014 23:07

Can someone help me, I have bought this steering wheel complete with pedals about 4 weeks ago. I have a few issues maybe someone can help me.

1. I can configure everything except to use the steering wheel :(

2. I suspect the steering wheel function is broken, :( before I return to Argos, can someone advise what tests I can do to confirm this. I downloaded and installed the Logitech profiler, when I test
functions all the buttons light up except there is no rotation on the steering wheel.

3. I also find the options in ETS 2 strange .. e.g. when I select accel and brakes by default it selects invert I then have to change to normal, can anyone tell me why it does this..

4. I do not know if this would effect it but instead of the pedals provided I am using my flight simulator Siatek pro pedals do I need to use the pedals provided?

As you can tell I am a newbie to ETS 2 using a steering wheel

Any one out there who can help me :D

Thanks.

First of all you can test your steering wheel by going to your Windows config >> Devices and printers where you find your steering wheel, right click on it and click on property.
If the steering wheel ain't broken go to Logitech and download "logitech gaming software" after installing this software read how to use it and start ETS2, go to control manager and add and config you steering wheel. (steering angel 780 degrees and in some ways you can use 900 degrees)

I hope it will work for you if you don't get it ask again please ;)

I have the same problem. What I did is, copy my controls.sii from my older profile & paste it to my new one.
It works without any problems.

You can find controls.sii in: My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/Profile/"Old Profile Name"/controls.sii

Hope I helped you :)

Leen and Volvo FH.

Thanks for the advice no still not working any other ideas, everything checks out when I go to device/printers select the steering wheel I can test all functions.
I downloaded the Logitech software and it detects the steering wheel, it just will not turn in the config screen or when i try to use it in ETS 2

Do you mean you can't select the Keyboard + Driving Force GT USB option in Controls?

Oh, I think I know what your point is.. You try to turn the wheel, it blocks & the wheel is not detected, but the pedals are?

Volvo FH

I have selected the Steering wheel and keyboard in controls. when I look
the steering wheel is configured to axis, when I turn the steering wheel,
in the truck the steering wheel does not turn..

EDIT:

Checked again, the Steering Wheel is detected in ETS 2 and I can configure all buttons and they work..
It is only when I turn the wheel, the steering wheel in the cab does not move.. It is also same in logitech profile software.

very strange :(

If the wheel doesn't turn in Logitechs profile software then that is an issue with that driver.
If it turns in windows game controllers then technically it should work in game, but it may be that the logitech profiler is interfering with the operation of the wheel.
Strange either way...

Turn off your logitech profiler (CTRL+ESC, processes... Find your logitech profiler and "end task" on it) and see if you still experience the same issue.
If you do then contact logitech support.
On extended hiatus.
