Re: Frosty Winter Weather Mod v9.0 [Upd: 19 Dec 2021]
Really nice idea with the clean roads, looks nice!
I'm curious about another thing regarding the climate. Lately I've been driving in Scandinavia and Northern Russia at night where at some point temperature dropped to -12°C and then it stayed there for a couple of hours. When crossing to Finland though it switched to -8°C although I hadn't left the overall "cold arctic" area at all so I'm wondering how are the climates attributed, for example arctic, subarctic? Are they actually tied to countries or are there invisible "borders" inbetween that suddenly change temperatures like that?

You have a lot of conditions which has an effect on temperature
Sea, air pressure, clouds, wind, snow cover etc

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense ofc, in reality at least. I hihgly doubt the game renders things such as sea and air pressure.
So I am wondering how does the game know which climate to apply in respect of where you're driving?

Pfc. Leyden - Mappers assign climate files to different areas of the map, so as you move from one sector to another you may see a dramatic fall or rise in temps.

@grimes I think that the back wheel spray from the oncoming traffic disappears way to suddenly when it snows. Is this "intended" due to game limitations or my eyes are too sensible?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The wheel spray disappears once the vehicle casting them is far enough behind you.
I feel like the distance they are cast behind the vehicles needs to be reduced a bit.

Great way to get away from this summer heat that we've been having (at least where I live). Thanks as always grimes!
