This one is build like all it's European brothers, in the USA, think this one is from Wisconsin.
This '03 is imported by GM from Westerlo (B), where all the American cars for Belgium are adjusted to the European market, registered and sold. (look the blinkers in the fenders. ;) )
Mostly, the people who buy it, are very rich or need some power.
We bought this one from a guy with a succesfull shop, he has money, so he picked this one up, new. :)
He sold it because he broke the transmission, my dad is specialized in those kinda jobs, so he bought it.
Then drove it 2 hours home at a maximum speed of 50 km/h.

This Tahoe has it's backseats removed, so it would fit in a light transport vehicle categorie, I don't want to pay this beast when it's insured as a normal vehicle.
Then they will be calculating the amount of money, you need to pay the insurance, by it's cubic inches.
Serious amount of cash if you do that.

Tahoe's and Suburbans ('00-'05) are very common in Belgium.
In my town, I know atleast 3 Avalanches (the newer generation)
My grandpa has a friend, he is rolling in a one-to-newest model Escalade, big chunk of change spend on that ride. ;)
My friends neighbour, has an 2006 Z06 Corvette, just sitting in the garage waiting till it turns 25+ years old, then they will become oldtimers, and cheaaaaaap to insure, He calls it an investment as our banks are worthless.
Another friend of me, his dad has a Escalade ('02)
A friend of my dad has a red Chevy Apache body dropped ('55-'57), he drives it everyday in the summer. (It is REALLY illegal to have a bodydropped car, or even airride here, but after your car turns 25 years and when you insure it as oldtimer, you don't need to have the car inspected every year)

Other than that, Chevy Van's transformed into ambulance's are really common, Belgian as well in Holland.

Interesting, our older cars (that Americans could care less about) are given a new life in Europe, pretty cool...... now I am beginning to wonder if my old 2002 Saturn SL2 might've made its way to Europe (if it did then it will need a new engine, dang coolant leak).

So are American cars just cheaper compared to other European cars?

Well, 2002 isn't exactly that desirable year. (I guess)
Mostly, we want old muscle cars :) And pickups. You know, things that define US automotive industry. :)
And I guess prices are higher for US cars than for other cars.

OFC, Belgium is a bit odd... looks like they collect new-ish US cars as well.

Yes, mostly pickups and muscle car or older 50's cars are desirable here, aswell as newer US cars.
You just know, it's better than a Prius or what else Toyota..

Everything is better than a Prius.
But not all Toyotas are bad... like the old AE86... or the Landcruiser...
And the Hilux Pickup is probably better than the US counterparts. (Although it's, not cool as US pickups...)
