Would ATS support RHD?

I believe the game engine will still have support for it but none of the trucks will because no RHD versions of said trucks are made in factory.

As for adapting, i had absolutely no issues driving an RHD truck in this game after having ridden and driven LHD my whole life. The only thing i believe i would have problems with is driving stick in an RHD cabin. Something i will now be able to try with my separate standalone shifter.

Its not a case of adapting, or practicing, personally I can drive LHD just fine. But I tend to use the UK interiors because I'm from UK, and tend to be driving out of the UK, it just feels more immersive to me to be doing that. But when it comes to the US it would be very odd to be in a RHD truck

Yep same for me (but reversed) as my shifter is attached on the left side of my wheel stand, It does indeed lose immersion when I'm Beta testing ATS (so I tend to stick to auto )

You could probably always "import" (make mods) RHD vehicles into the US (if they are atleast 25 years old or if theres a vehicle sold in the US that is "substantially similar" (you have to get a letter from the manufacturer for that)

OshKosh, uses CENTER drive on some of their ARFF trucks, which though we wouldn't drive, would be cool to see as freight. heck Osh, and its sub companies has TONS of potential for AI stuff. All the years my Dad drove I never saw him in anything other than LHD however. IF anyone was to make a RHD, something tells me Oshkosh, would be the company, just because they make some fairly industry specific models.

Very complicated indeed. It's a shame though, the feds would rather go after imported vehicles that give off less emissions and more smiles per gallon ( ) than the cars we have here, than actual threats to the country (like those people who find it reasonable to bring fully loaded automatic rifles into walmart), but that's another story for another time

though, i've heard that people do rarely import austrailian-made kenworths for heavy hauling on the western coast, and in the mountains, but im not sure if they have to convert those to LHD or not

It was never about adapting to EU style driving. Contrarily, my maneuvering has never been better driving through the wrong side of the cab. I did give the 'odd' factor a think but its only a game which led me to write up this thread. Now when I look back at it, I feel >>
