What car do you drive?

#1 Post by Dr doom » 30 Sep 2015 11:13

Here you can post what car you drive (or what car your parents drive if your under age)
you can post what brand your car is and what model and if possible, the year of manufacture, for example: Ford will be the brand and Mondeo will be the model.
So, the car that my parents drive (because I'm under age) is a 2005 BMW X5

A Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0HDi, best car I've ever owned..
It's 15yrs old and still going strong
It hates the taste of Diesel so much it practically refuses to drink it
It's so worn and shabby looking it ALWAYS wins a game of chicken with the "look at my shiny new car that I'll be paying the finance off on for the next 20yrs" crew.
It has never failed an M.O.T (Compulsory annual Ministry of Transport Test for those of you from outside of the UK)
The back seats either fold down or can be removed completely, great for taking a washing machine or the cuttings from 3 extremely large Bushes to the tip
It's the comfiest seating position of any car I've owned (more like a Van driving position) and I get out of it after a long journey with no backache or stiffness at all
I'd be more than happy to have it for another 15yrs if I'm honest
Oh and I bought it for a grand (cash) 5yrs ago so it's more than paid for itself

I want a Range Rover if I ever win the lotto, but I'd still keep the Picasso for a runabout though.

[ external image ]

1998 1.1 Lancia Y Elefantino Blu :)

It's a bit worn out, as anyone would expect from a Lancia that's been out of the factory for more than 5 minutes. And I really should put some money into its "bones" and engine, but it's not on the list, unfortunately.
But I love it, it has taken me all over Europe, in the past years and I always had a great time in it, whether the trip took 5 minutes or 16 hours.

PS. the car in the image is not mine, just looks exactly the same (a bit better actually).
Retired, but still loving it.

I'd rather ride my bike any- and everyday, but due to the winters up here in the freezing north and some random transportation of bigger stuff with or without trailer i need a car too. Atm it's a 2004 Volvo XC90 T6 AWD. It's sure a thirsty beast, but you can get them surprisingly cheap since nowadays everyone tends to want smaller diesels. That's understandable with the high gasoline prices but my excuse is that my mileage per year is very modest so the gas price is actually no big deal.

You wanted bike specs as well? Yes i'm sure i read that between the lines  It's a BMW GS1200 Adventure and i can assure it's far more fun than any car i've ever owned.
I've never done that before, so I'm sure I can do it (Långstrump, Pippi)

I don't anymore because of a health condition I have with my eyes, it would end in screaming and fire... and be rather unpleasant

But the last car I had was a clapped out Ford Focus 1.8 zetec with over 150,000 miles on the clock

At the moment a Honda Civic saloon automatic (1994) with 124.000 KM, but because of my back I'm searching for a second hand Ford Focus.
To get in you have to let you fall into the car and climb out of it and that hurts :(
