I've had it for over 15 years, and I use it every day for trips and going to work. It might be my car for the rest of my life...

Already a classic, it's rare to see them on the streets nowadays.

2018 BMW 340i, 6-speed manual trans, in Mineral Grey Metallic.
I had to special order it before buying a car with the 3rd pedal became impossible.

Re: What car do you drive?
I forgot I sold my old MR2 a couple years ago to get something a bit simpler and newer. I got a 2018 GT86, it's got a bunch of modifications to allow me to run on track as much as possible. I'm now looking to buy a second set of wheels that I can run some dedicated track tyres on as at the moment I'm only on Michelin Cup2's which are ok but I could be running a better tyre.
Here are some shots from a couple weeks ago at Donington Park where it was 30 degrees and the car performed flawlessly.

Good plan! Going racing definitely isn't cheap, and there aren't many other ways these days to do it "right" other than the way you are.

These are my other cars, purely for the track, not road registered. A pair of AE86 Toyota Corolla Group A Touring Cars.

Re: What car do you drive?
Wow now those are some awesome cars.
I looked at importing an AE86 from Japan but they are just so expensive and also most of them are thrashed and still expensive. Actually nice ones are just way too expensive and I guess I'm not a big enough fan to spend like over £30,000+ on what is a 40 year old corolla. Don't get me wrong I love em but I just can't see me paying that for them now.

Re: What car do you drive?
I agree too. Awesome cars! Reasonable decisions must be made, and spending crazy money on a 40 year old Corolla is tough. Even an old Mazda MX5 has gotten pretty pricey compared to what they used to go for.
I sold my ‘90 Mazda RX7 Turbo II to make room for the BMW 340i that now lives in the garage. The upkeep was killing me when it was in competition with my wife, son and house, for my time and money. Obviously the Family won, but a least I do have something fun to drive still.
Keep it up with the cool race cars David!
