[REL] ProMods v2.68

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Hello there,

This is not the correct place to report ProMods bug. You can report it on the forum: https://www.promods.net/viewforum.php?f=29

The rules of posting mods in this forum "By sharing your mods on this forum, you are agreeing to give all users of the forum equal technical support in the mod's topic. You may not limit support to private messages or other services away from the forum."

If official posters of the Promods mods choose to not follow this rule, the topic will be removed from this forum.

I will not be using a VPN to access their site: https://i.imgur.com/TFT1blG.png Only because I have a Russian IP.
If you have a desire and a few minutes, you can give them the coordinates of the obstacle.

Hello there,

I checked that place. The road has been blocked by the dead-end barrier. So that place is not allowed players to drive in. Do you have any other mods enabled?

What falls under "technical support" then? If we take "Providing technical support" as to mean 'the mod author helping the user solve an issue or problem they are having with the mod' then I would say it's fair to argue that 30maes was not providing any technical support, they were informing the user about the correct place to report bugs on the ProMods map. If the user had followed the link and posted their bug report on promods.net they wouldn't have received any technical support. At most they would have received a confirmation that the bug has been added to our bug tracking system.

If you're saying that 'a user reporting bugs to the mod author' == 'the mod author helping the user solve an issue" then I believe that the rule should be updated and reworded to make this clear. I personally would not classify 'receiving bug reports' as 'providing technical support' as unless we guide the user into fixing the bug themselves, there's not much we can do beyond saying "thanks for the report, we'll fix it for the next version". The reason we request that this takes place on the ProMods website is so that all the bug reports can be kept in one place, where we can easily edit and sort them them in order to track their 'fixed/unfixed' status.

No one has ever raised an issue with this if it is supposedly against the rules. I think we need some clarification here.

I think the rules are pretty clear:
You may not limit support to private messages or other services away from the forum.
This means that if you have posted a mod on the SCS forum, you also have to offer support on the SCS forum. You are not allowed to force people to go to the ProMods forum for support.
And about 'technical support': a bug needs technical support to be solved. So, if a player found a bug in a mod that is posted on the SCS forum, the creator of that mod should give technical support on the SCS forum. And not on another forum, like the ProMods one.

This is how I read and interpret the rule.

It's not a Promods bug, it's a bug in the Western Estonia addon, already reported in their own thread on the promods forum some time ago, and being addressed.
