Range shifter upper gear set wrong
Set up my G27 w/H-shifter identical to my ETS2 configuration, using the left shift paddle for toggling back and forth between lower and upper gear sets. However, in ATS the lower gear set works as it should but toggling the upper gear set I don't get 7th to 12th, I just get a 13th gear and nothing else.

Re: Range shifter upper gear set wrong
After restarting ATS several times the upper gear set now appears to include gears 13 to 18. However, this upper gear set is so tall I've only gotten to 15th gear once in a 80mph speed limit zone out of Las Vegas. There may be a conflict somewhere because I saw a brief one time flash of 7th but when I went for 8th it was 14th. Weird or just a hallucination?

if you have more than 12 gears, you need two switches for mapping all gears to 6-position shifter.
in ETS2 there is range shifter always 6+6, where first toggle switches between.
in ATS, when you have 13 or 18 speed gearbox (!), there is 6+6+1 or 6+6+6. first toggle handles big step (+12), second toggle handles small step (+6). this logic is used for all auto-generated layouts.
note that 10-speed gearbox will make 6+4 range shifter, and first toggle will be enough.

Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

Or you could also use Cadde's application to create realistic H patterns (search for Cadde Shifter Layout).
From what I've looked at, the transmissions that come with the Kenworth and Peterbilt are auto transmissions (UltraShift) and will therefore have different ratios to the manual RoadRanger transmissions.
Max, any thought on separating the rear diff from the transmission so the ratio can be selected as an accessory?

Never argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Thanks for the explanation. I was struggling to figure it out myselfMax wrote:if you have more than 12 gears, you need two switches for mapping all gears to 6-position shifter.
