Compatibility update (v22.14.1) for ETS2 1.44.0 open beta has been included for the Sound Fixes Pack on the ETS2 Steam Workshop! This will bring existing files in the mod inline with 1.44.0.

Once I have time, there will be another update to v22.15 which will handle any new content added in 1.44 that could do with a sound modification. Have fun!

v22.16 is ready for 1.44! Some of the changes are based on NEW 1.44 content:

-> SCS reworked Austria, so I decided to rework the sound of the Vienna U-Bahn train in Austria.
-> SCS reworked Sacramento, so I decided to rework the sound of the Sacramento light rail vehicle.
-> SCS reworked the suspension behavior, so I decided to rework the suspension / tire bump sounds.

I am also happy to see base game traffic progress is now at 17% completion (▲ +1%) despite new AI traffic vehicles being added.

If you are still on 1.43, please note v22.14 should be used instead - v22.14 will automatically be used on the Steam Workshop.

A taste of home awaits you in 1.44 with the Sound Fixes Pack! I took the opportunity to work on diversifying the railroad crossing bell sounds for both ETS2 and ATS while we are in the open beta period.
It took a lot of work to get to this point, hence the version number jump, and there may be more to come!

While the railroad crossing bell sound replacement by Grinch has served the Sound Fixes Pack well for 2 years, it is time to explore how different places in the world put their own spin and quirks on their railroad crossing bell/alarm sound.
This brings a lot of enrichment for exploring different locations in the game and takes the mod to a whole new level.

But wait, there's more! I have made sure to utilize soundref files for the different railroad crossing bells. So if you want to swap a railroad crossing bell sound for a specific country with one from another sound mod, it will be easy to do so without editing critical definition files.
I have organized the files in the sound_fixes_pack/world/railroad_crossings/ directory - should be futureproof too.

Soundref files have been created for country or state specific railroad crossing bells!
This will allow modders to pick and choose crossing bell sounds from other sound mods without editing critical definition files.

@DarkD92 - I would like to but there is no default sound for it. It would have to be part of an engine sound mod in the jake brake sound itself which is out of this mod's scope.

17 countries now have a localized railroad crossing bell/alarm sound in this new update of the Sound Fixes Pack for Euro Truck Simulator 2. That's a lot to discover!

1.44 is now out of beta for ETS2! Welcome to those joining us in 1.44!

I want to add that I might be able to diversify the railroad crossing bell sounds further for the countries that have multiple models for the railroad crossing bell. I still have to experiment with this possibility.
For the enthusiasts, if you find two different models in the same country feel free to let me know the whereabouts. As always, you can comment your suggestions for sounds.
