Seeking for help in modding my G27

#1 Post by CopMaster » 06 Feb 2016 21:19

Hello people.

I'd like to mod my lovely G27 that's been sitting in it's default state for over four years now.

I'd like to do many mods but I don't know how.

I am thinking of getting a real-life truck wheel, but does anyone know if the G27 will be able to handle the weight of the steering wheel itself? And will I be able to somehow fit it to the adapter that usually goes, and if not is there any way?

I'd like to make a handbrake from my Joystick Genius MaxFighter F-17.

Now I am not going for the usual handbrake that's for racing ( vertical handbrake that has rubber bands or spring added and it can't be locked in the parking mode )
I was thinking of making a handbrake just like in real life.I'd turn it horizontally, but how can I make it locked when I raise the handbrake ( like in real car, where you press the button and lower it )

I also will probably disassemble my H-Shifter,and put a shift knob, but can any knob fit?

*I will post pictures if needed *

Thanks in advance !

I think a original truck wheel are heavy to g27. A friend do it with a non-original wheel (lighter): Facebook picture --- His profile

If you need help with the knob I can help you, the only restriction is: the knob must have electrical buttons and not pneumatic one. my Scania knob

Given this statement, I highly suggest you find something else to do... Otherwise you might end up with a useless $300.00 wheel.

If that were the case, nobody would ever do anything new. He certainly should be careful and start out small, maybe copy other peoples' mods, but I wouldn't say he shouldn't mod anything at all because he doesn't know how.
