A technical consultation, which gearbox is best suited for heavy loads? In context, I had to transport a transformer to a hill in Deepgrove and I couldn't climb it :/ Logically, 18-speed. I've even tried the high spread ones.

@fedeg_1 when i do heavy haul, i usually go with a 18-speed with a 3.90 or 4.11 diff ratio!

@fedeg_1 Like SirVirgoTheMess already suggested, the differential ratio is the key. For heavy haul you'll want to have more torque and higher acceleration but this comes with the negative effect of having a lower top speed. The higher the number on the diff ratio, the more torque the transmission essentially offers. Then again, the lower the number, the higher the top speed.

Hi, I am wondering where the files for shifter layouts should go. Right now I am using the "range-splitter" layout for the 9, 8LL, 9ALL, and 15 transmissions. I am using the fanatec clubsport shifter, and have the positions R, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mapped in the game.. So I am wondering- if I drop the shifter layout files somewhere will it help me fix any weird shifter behavior?

@hydroracer93r They go into your profile folder. On Windows the default path should be C:\Users\User\Documents\American Truck Simulator\profiles\PROFILE\.
