I wanted to make the day longer. The day in the env_data.sii is already the summer solstice, so editing it would only make the day shorter.
Is there no way to edit the sun elevation in the weather editor? It seems weird that there is an "elevation" value, but I can't change it.

Re: New Summer v6.1 [Upd: 08 Apr 2025]
There is a way as the days are longer in the Nordic region in game than they are in more southern regions. I however have no idea on how to do so.
Rather than asking in a specific mod thread, maybe ask in the general help forums.

Re: New Summer v6.1 [Upd: 08 Apr 2025]
I looked into doing it that way but the problem is that it gives everywhere a 'cold' sort of feel, since the game thinks it's a Nordic area.
I already asked on the Promods discord server, and I didn't get any good answer. I'm asking here because Grimes seems to be one of the few that have actually changed the sun elevation.

@Dragolago - If you want to edit the elevation just open the climate files in notepad and change the attributes, I believe modders have made 24 hour daylight mods in the past.

Re: New Summer v6.1 [Upd: 08 Apr 2025]
Can you explain a little more on how editing the climate file works? According to this it seems like I have to edit low_elevation, high_elevation and sun_direction. However, some of the values after low/high_elevation seem to be hex (or something similar)? Does the hex represent numbers, colours, or something else? When should I use hex and when should I use regular numbers? I'm also wondering, how do I adjust when a value after low/high elevation is active?
Also, I didn't realise that it was possible to have it be daytime 24 hours. I thought the sun would have had to do a full cycle.

Re: New Summer v6.1 [Upd: 08 Apr 2025]
@Dragolago - The elevation attributes are sometimes in hex but you can solely use decimal, ranging from -30 (lowest) to 90 (highest), to change night to day you could perhaps have a day cycle of 30 to 90 to 30 and only include those sun profiles.
I'm desperetely trying to finish winter for ats as I'm going on holiday on Monday so I'll leave you to it, maybe you can ask around the forum for help, good luck.

Re: New Summer v6.1 [Upd: 08 Apr 2025]
Thanks for the help Grimes. For some reason it never worked properly, no matter how I edited it. Then I looked back at the modding guide and realised I misunderstood it. I don't think you can actually change the elevation of the sun. Instead the low/high_elevation is changing when the sun profile is active in relation to the sun's elevation. For example, you can set the default.nice.01 sun profile to be active when the sun's elevation is 60. You can set a different sun profile for when the sun's elevation is 50 etc.

Hello Grimes,
in the last days, I passed items with missing textures north of Berlin and north of Kalamata when having New Summer 6.1 activated:

Would be great if you could double-check and if correct, fix it with the next version
Thx

Yeah, not pushing at all, just noting that the ETS2 New Summer is crashing in 1.55.
I'm otherwise waiting patiently for updates. Love the mods!
