Where to start?? I am a retired professional driver with about 4k hours between ETS2 and ATS and there is no map in either sim that has so thoroughly and completely convinced me I was back driving for real. Not even close. I've had huge map combos, I've tried most of the stand-alones, but this is the one! Head and shoulders above the rest. I have barely scratched the surface, and I know it is basically just one road, but I can see myself driving on it for a long long time before it gets tired.

I like stand-alones because there is something about 1:1 that the scaled-down game just misses. You come around a corner onto one of the very few longish straights and there's a truck way at the other end. You don't see him again for fifteen minutes, then more and more often till like 30 or 40 real-life minutes later you've finally reeled him in, with two cars between and no way on Earth you're ever getting past so you just start juggling the cruise control to maintain the gap and settle in for the grind. No-one who hasn't driven can ever understand just how much that grabs the 'real' vibe! Freakin' awesome!

The AI traffic! I'm in south-east Australia and it's so similar in so many ways. Long gaps, a couple bunched up, another long gap, three or four in the tail at the top of every climb, let them pass, then nothing in the mirror for ages. I'm back in the 'real' vibe!

Dirt roads. I HATE dirt roads in both sims, so when I came to the first stretch of dirt highway I thought 'Oh no!'. Dirt roads in-game are like driving a mini minor across a ploughed field - a concrete ploughed field - with the FFB jumping and lurching in a completely unrealistic way! But on this map the truck hood moves, the cab moves, the FFB trembles SLIGHTLY and yup - the ''real' vibe. Again.

Total, utter kudos to the maker! Wow! ;)

Just a quick footnote that @Davyddin 'Profile Jump Start' (Workshop) works seamlessly with thiss. Load it above the map mods during profile creation, do one job, and remove it from Mod Manager. The result is one quick job (mine was literally straight across the road!), $50 mil in the bank and a maxd out driver. Realistic? No, but neither is the SCS new profile grind....
All these years and still on my bum in a puddle, scratching in the dirt....

Thanks mate, glad you enjoy it and it gives you that old feeling again!
BTW I used to live in Bendigo, so remember the Vic Roads. Nothing on the road
dad would go over a hill, slam on the brakes cause there was a flock of sheep crossing.
South East QLD a bit different its just full of idiots on the roads.

On another note for anyone interested

I dont know if any of you have Plex, but it is free.
There is an entire Channel that is nothing but ice Road Truckers!

Hey Hawks.....Fantastic update. I agree with earlier post, this is probably the best add on map for ATS. It's the one I spend the most time with. I enjoy the 1:20 North American map, more as a tourist than a trucker as I'm from South-west Australia, but the Dalton is a realistic trip. No matter how many times I have done the full length of the Highway, it never gets old. It's always a challenge, with the hills and the snow. I always wind up coming back to it for another run. On another note, I have started watching the Ice-Road Trucker Channel. It's very addictive to watch. The other Ice-Road that they show, around Yellow Knife, I assume is in Canada? Have you ever contemplated expanding with a second map in this area? I know nothing about the Map Editor for ATS, but would the assets from the Dalton map be usable in another map? I also appreciate thar just maintaining this map and updating it is a huge amount of work. I think the 1:1 scale adds to the realism with driving and scenery. A 100 mils is a long way and it feels right.
I should get off my bum and start learning about the Editor. A project I have thought might work would be a local logging route. Hauling logs out of forest areas to a factory in Bunbury. Probably only about a 100 miles but the route is local and could be made realistic. Trucking is repetitive. Truckers drive the same route everyday. It's an idea I keep coming back to in my head. Anyway.....keep up this fantastic map. I'm a real fan.

Yeah its in Canada in the Northwest Territories. It would definitely be too much to do. I recall someone did it in 18 WoS Haulin, but they didnt keep up with it.
A route from Fairbanks to Yellowknife would be 1,756 mi or 2826km via the Alcan Hwy.
My original map in 18 WoS Haulin / American Longhaul went from Vancouver to Prince George, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, Watson Lake, Whitehorse, Haines Junction, Tok, Delta Junction, North Pole, Fairbanks then all the way up to Deadhorse then to Nuiqsut with most of the same places along the way as this version.
It was 1:1 and ended up so far away from 0,0,0 that according to Pavel Sebor from SCS ( went by Sabre if I recall back then on the forums we used), the engine couldnt handle my map and just shook like mad and your truck would just shake itself across the ground without even having the engine running.
Doing a run from Fairbanks down to Florida was a loooong run. Somehow though I dont recall the economy was affected by it being joined to the main USA Map.

Wow I just found a playlist posted 1 year ago of my old map in 18Wos Haulin https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... 6HZWqG4zWy

You can clearly see the ground shaking in this one

I really wish SCS would bring back the CB Chatter we had back then in that and the interaction like you see at 2.25 in this.

it was good times back then doing the map, was part of Lisa Kelly's Mirc Chatroom on her old website and used to ask her questions about the Dalton.
Still recall asking her what milepost Beaverslide was at to which she replied" Oh hell I dont know" or something like that.

BTW if anyone still has 18 WoS Haulin (must have the game updates installed) and wants to try it here you go https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IJ3Zxa ... sp=sharing

Now SCS is getting ridiculous. They released 1.59 on May 5th and after only a month release 1.60. As much as I like the improvements it is making me furious that as soon as I get it playable again we're back to fighting to see which mods again are breaking the game. My big concern is my favorites will disappear as modders decide its too much work. Please give us all some breathing room! @hawkbs , Beaverslide is at mile Marker 110.

Yeah I hear ya there with the updates. Im trying to get Spy Island done atm which is another Offshore Oil Rig.

Yeah the comment about Beaverslide was going back to when I did the map in 18WoS Haulin and I think it was probably Season 3 or 4. Was just after the episode where Lisa was checking her nails and a truck came the other way and she had to swerve to avoid it and nearly ditched.
Told her that and she said "I wasnt checking my nails" So I took a screenshot and showed her lol
It was during that conversation I asked her where the MP was.
Im pretty sure @Bandit188 was there at the time in the chatroom

Just so you know. The map seems to be OK in 1.60. I started a trip yesterday and have got as far as the Yukon Camp without any problems or graphic glitches. I'm not running any other mods. Maybe the updates for 1.60 were aimed at the truck features?
