G27 has no FFB in ETS2 since a short time

#1 Post by Calzone » 23 Sep 2016 21:10

So I haven't been playing this game a lot lately, but wanted to pick up on it again. There is just one slight problem though, and that is that the FFB of my G27 doesn't function in ETS2 anymore. It works fine in other games.

All settings are the same as I always had and FFB is on in game. There are no effects and no centering though.

I have recently upgraded to Win 10 and think that could be the cause, but I have no clue how to fix this.

Anyone who is familiair with this issue?

Yes, i have seen this issue. A quick and dirty search yielded no immediate results however.
But basically, it's because of the Win 10 upgrade. Re-install your wheel drivers as they most likely aren't compatible with Win10.

If that doesn't work, do search around a bit and you will eventually find the thread where there's a link to some Microsoft knowledge base on the issue.
That is, google "site:forum.scssoft.com <terms>" where you replace "<terms>" with what you are looking for.

Again, i did look for you quickly but i don't recall the thread where they dealt with the issue and i am not interested in spending too much time on that right now.

I think I've found the thread, but the solution mentioned there didn't work for me unfortunately.

I've tried reinstalling ETS2 and Logitech profiler, but no luck yet. The FFB is working, since hitting stuff and bumls activate it. There is just no turning force.

Switching on centerspring in the Logitech profiler helps, but only in Global Device settings. This would mean that I have to turn it off for other games and back on for ETS2, since it doesn't work on the profile level. This was also not necessary in Win 7.

Are you letting the game decide centering force? Because ETS works that way.
There's a checkbox for that.

I used to have the checkbox in the profiler off and I took my ETS2 profiles with me when upgrading to Win 10 (did it when i bought an SSD, so fresh install) So I didn't change anything in the settings of ETS2.

Another solution I've found is using the FFB plugin. Now FFB works like it used to again and I can leave the Centeringspring checkbox in the Logitech profiler off.

Yeah i would have suggested that if all else failed. But AFAIK, it should work without it.
As long as you are happy, i am happy.
