[2.19] Scania Drivetrain Revision

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

2.59 is a perfectly viable Diff Ratio, with 315/70, even with the smallest SUPER Engine.

ItΒ΄s just that SCS has the tire sizes ~3% off due to not caring about the difference between circumference (pi x diameter) and "rolling circumference" (3.05 x diameter for 315/70).

When you mod 2.59 to 2.6623 (+2.8%) to adjust for the wrong SCS tiresize, youΒ΄re good to go.

For speccing the truck, for 40to GVW at 80 kmh having ~250KW+ of power at that rpm/speed combo should be fine. The 420 at 1116 rpm (2.6623 diff ratio, in direct drive) with 2300 Nm delivers ~269 KW, which is good for 44to GVW @ 80kmh.

Hello Galimin, hope u're good.

Well, I'm just here to inform ou that ur mod seems to have a little conflict with Eugene's Scania Next-Gen mod. Everytime I try to change the chassis, the game crashes, and happens with new and old profiles and with just the two mods installed.

Here's my game log for u to see for yourself

So what's happening here is that that when you swap to the 4x2 chassis, it tries to swap to a "default" engine (the 460 hp one), which in turn tries to switch to a default gearbox (the g25cm with 3.08 rear axle).... but the specified gearbox does not whitelist the 460 hp engine, which means the game doesn't know what to do and panics, crashing the game.

I would try swapping the load order for Eugene's mod and Galimim's drivetrain revision, to see if that helps any. There may still be crashes if trying to select the smaller engines (since Eugene's gearbox definitions won't have Galimim's low displacement engines on their whitelist), that's something that has to be sorted out over time.

The true issue isn`t with the tires, it`s with the rpm limits set for changing gears they are set a little too high and the game not being as "wise" as the ECU doesn`t flex those set numbers at all, if you set it to rpm low gear 880-1450 and high gear to 900-1400 you`ll get a realist experience of the driveability of the new SUPER models, they run lower rpms so there you have it, the values i gave ar approximate, play with them until you find your sweetspot.

^ this
I edited the rpm range for both the low gears and high gears. For low gears i set it to (850, 1500) and for the high gears i set it to (900-1300). That way the engine keep the rev low and within it's torque parameters.

In one comment for my mod I have given a real world example for an older Scania Streamline with a 2.59 diff ratio, where the tires and therefore rpms match +-2rpm what I am talking about. (see: viewtopic.php?p=2107220#p2107220)
SCS gave us 295/80, but told us they are 315/70.
