Steering deadzone problem T500rs

#1 Post by Heners » 19 Feb 2017 23:05

hi guys i was wondering if anyone else has noticed a small 1% deadzone in the centre of the wheel (i use a T500rs and dont have any deadzone problems in other games?!

ive checked older versions of the game and there was no deadzone! but in last few updates to the game ive noticed when on a straight piece of road, making minor adjustments to the steering wheel to keep the truck in a straight line, the truck doesn't transition smoothly from left to right, it kind of jumps?
anyone else noticed this and is there a fix?
its driving me nuts!

Moved from Technical Issues.

Yes, make sure the deadzone slider in game is actually at the far left edge. In fact...
Post your game.log.txt contents please. You can find it in the "My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2" folder.
You may use http://pastebin.com if the log exceeds the maximum size for your post.

And also go into your profile (numbers are hexadecimal representations of your profile name) and post your controls.sii file.

Then, move the "steering nonlinearity slider" towards the left. 1/3 the way to 1/4 the way is a good start.
On extended hiatus.

What make and chassis are you driving?

That can definitely happen if your Steering Non Linearity is 0 (close to the left).

I found that the most realistic setting is at 50% (middle) for my 900 degrees wheel.

Look at how much the wheel turns in this roundabout:

So I tried to set mine accordingly.

The driving looks and feels much smoother: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/125401282
