Going over to Central America could be interesting because they also use European trucks.

Volvo cabover, seem to have sellers in some countries there.
But Mexico is Volvo conventional.
Mack Anthem, that's, sort of everywhere in Americas?

I did see a youtube video, from Nicaraqua? 11 years old. There was one cabover seen, but it was an old US truck, the rest seen were conventionals. Most older trucks.

I'm with @VTXcnME on this, I would much rather they finish the US (lower 48) first as I personally have little interest in Canada or Mexico and it will take long enough as it is. I would probably still buy them as it's more map, but I want to be able to drive around the whole US first.
Also "American" to me means the USA, I would never consider that word to refer to the North American continent or any other countries.

I don't think SCS would make any sort of restriction on what jobs you can pick up depending on where your garage is, and honestly I'm not sure it would be fun in the slightest to not be able to do domestic jobs in the US if your garage is in Mexico, or vice versa. Some realism is just too restricting for a video game.

@oldmanclippy I agree. Hope they won't go that realistic. Mexico might as well be a standalone game if that was the case. Can't deliver back and forth I mean.

I agree that the level of restriction with Mexico should not happen. But you all know as well as I do, there will be people ranting that it's not realistic. If somehow SCS could have a check box to not generate US job to Mexico and force border pickup. At that point, you must own a Mexico garage and pick up from the Mexico side. This is more for WOT or hardcore though.

But the option could be considered. More work for programming but honestly it helps performance. Jobs don't have to generate for the entire US. Separate job loading generation can split up the US/Canada from Mexico.

The entire game plays fast and loose with the term "realism".

-from physics to weather to cargo types delivered to every location.... it's the whole gamut.

And 'those folks' who complain about the lack of realism have sometimes unrealistic expectations of what the game will ever be to begin with.

This would be an oddly specific place to draw that line of 'realism'. I never knew trucks didn't pass into MX and vise versa... but I hope SCS doesn't choose to embrace that. When that time comes. There'd be no point in making Mexico maps.... it might as well be a stand alone game. Truly.

I do await the chance to cross borders in ATS like ETS2 has. I think it was Black Sea that made the 2-3 check point that I enjoyed. I actually like the long process to make if feel like your are going thru the process of entering a new country. I can do this with ProMods Canada but I'd like to do it without mods. We are a long ways out from getting SCS country border crossing in ATS but doesn't mean I can't wait. At one point, I thought there was a chance when Washington released. It seemed like SCS wanted to complete the entire North American coast.

How are the rules with Canada - USA transfers?
