I'm an Interstate man... The more Interstates being finished and added the better. They are the ones most (if not all) truckers use IRL... Yes small scenic routes are great on paper and on videogames but those are not great to go through in reality. So the states that finished off or adds important ones are the ones I look forward the most.

@oldmanclippy Well yeah, that's another possibility, releasing OK first and making KS and NE the first map DLC bundle for ATS.

Towards the great lakes is an excellent decision IMO. It keeps the map balanced.

So, apparently the plan to get to the East Coast was changed. They will go up, so theoretically it would be: Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota.

I wonder how direct they're going to be with Route 66.

Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois are pretty much necessary. Arkansas (I-30 & I-55 to Missouri) and South Dakota (I-90 & I-29 to Iowa) would be very useful as well for funneling existing states into that area. North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin (I-94 in all cases, I-90 east of I-29 in the latter two) are somewhat less valuable, but still pretty useful to fill. Come to think of it... if what we currently have is a "boxed map", would a map bounded by Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas be a "rounded map"? It isn't necessarily as geometrically appealing, but it's actually a pretty decent shape to aim for, because almost everything eventually funnels to I-94 and I-55 - which serve as a soft "border" for the right edge of the map, with SE Arkansas and Beaumont being basically the only places that lead anywhere that don't ultimately hit the US 59 / I-30 / I-55 / I-94 / I-43 wall.

Poor Louisiana gets screwed, which I'm a little sad about, but it kind of makes sense. Lousiana's only direct Interstate connection to the Arkansas/Missouri/Illinois/etc. cluster is I-49 in the veeeery top-left, which wouldn't even be especially useful if we get most of US 59 in Texas (as we hopefully will if Louisiana is indeed not in the short-term cards). While it does get US 55, it needs to pass through Mississippi and Tennessee to lead anywhere. And Tennessee's shape is... probably the most problematic state left lol. Honestly, with the new information, I could potentially see this happening before Lousiana solely because of Tennessee lol:

All three will likely be released one by one OK, KS, NE they can stagger the releases while working on upgrades to engine.

Corn and more Corn-Pavel said, it's very likely box out map. First east of Mississippi state will possibly be Illinois.

I believe Oklahoma will still be its own DLC and will be being developed by the Montana team. Davido confirmed today that his team has already moved on to the next project. Kansas and Nebraska I believe will be developed by the Texas team and will be the first DLC with 2 states.
