Poll: Choose (3) States you would like to see next
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Fae, with the occassional days, when there is black ice and all trucks are parked close to I-10, waiting for better weather.
I have no clue if that happens every year, or maybe a few times per decade.

I still like stacking the map. Once Florida is reached then the states to the North can all be added.

Maybe SCS will do a mid stair step?
Instead of the south being a base for it?

That could would work well I think.
Push east with Missouri, then fill in North and South. Then push east with Illinois, then fill in north and south. Then Kentucky+Tennessee, etc etc. Something along those lines. Just generally move in an easterly or northeasterly direction, filling in as we go.
I don't think doing columns in a perfect order is a good strategy. Doing Texas -> North Dakota and then Louisiana -> Minnesota would be fine for hardcore fans like us, but I doubt it would impress general audiences. Diversifying the geography between each release as much as possible is the best way to keep players' attention, IMO.

Mid step is a cool way to put it. But yeah that's what I was saying awhile back with lead with I-80 Eastbound and fill in North and South off I-80 as we go. I-80 could be treated like an arrow head basically. Stay one state East of all others to lead off until we get to New York where I-80 ends. For every one state East we get 1 North of I-80 and one South of I-80.

LOL I agree with you Fae.
I only ran I-10 when I had a delivery in Florida that headed south from it. The rest of the time in the winter months I had I had to suffer through the snow back to Northern NY.
Shiva, I've been in Texas and ran into black ice west of Fort Worth. {And one time south from Fort Worth after that.} No signs saying "Road Closed due to Ice" or anything else. I knew there was ice on the highway, slowed down, and ran the right-side tires in the breakdown lane. Only when I stopped at a truckstop did I find out the 10 was "Closed". We ate, left and ran out of it 10 miles west. No big deal for me. I'd run on it up in northern New York and New England many times. And on snow packed roads too, where they had to use graders to remove it. That's just as bad as black ice but at least you can see it and know what it is.

Formerly from Northern NY on the Ontario/Quebec borders.
I've hauled ass down the road to deliver new cars and trucks, fuel, freight, and produce. Now I'm addicted to ATS doing the same thing in a simulation.

Oh man, yup. Black Ice inTexas can be absolutely brutal. Cold temps combined with high humidity = death for vehicles.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
It's interesting SCS is going back north from Oklahoma... I would've loved to see them do what they originally did backwards.. so like they had CA NV AZ NM....
After The Dakotas maybe they can do "LA MS AR MO"

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
I'm okay with both going north or south - although I'd like to see MN and IA next after the current column, it's just a personal preference, I don't like hot weather - as long as the Dakotas get released first after OK, KS and NE. It seems like a very low probability that SCS would skip them, however, I won't be relieved until they get announced. Hopefully as a bundle...
I like this idea very much.oldmanclippy wrote: ↑03 Jun 2023 21:46 Push east with Missouri, then fill in North and South. Then push east with Illinois, then fill in north and south. Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
I surely hope this does not happen. We'd need Nebraska before the Dakota's. No Nebraska and we have an ugly gap in the map. That's C shaped routes awaiting that many wouldn't be happy with.
