Are the greek islands technically at a different scale? Or are they at the same 1:19 scale? Because it seems like they want to get far more consistent with scales in how they are re-scaling Britain, but at the same time, Hawaii is very small, so I am curious if the Greek Islands are upscaled at all? Oahu and Maui would be about the size of Lesbos in Greece. The Big Island is a little bigger than Crete, then Kauai is gonna be like Chios.

Well, those islands had Greece to lean on, HI will have pretty much nothing but itself to lean on.
If they made it at 1:20 scale, they would need it to be pretty much free lmao

Greek islands contain small sections of the real roads, but use most of the space of the islands.
Britain, it has other limits etc. That SCS can avoid by doing it in the same scale as mainland europe.
Hawaii Islands, SCS could do in the scale they want. The map sectors would be far from mainland.

My first two picks are North Dakota and Ohio for one northern and one midwestern state.

My third pick is a bit difficult. A southern state would be the best, but Mississippi is a bit hard to access without Memphis (Tennessee), and Tennessee itself would make an even weirder map shape. This only leaves one choice for the third state: Kentucky.

I went ND MN KY. I really want to get the North filled out, and Kentucky makes sense to start working through the South without any glaring gaps.

That said, I seem to recall hearing that Team BC will ne returning to work on a US state after BC is completed, instead of moving to Alberta or Yukon. Is that true?

^We don't know yet. Pavel left it open by saying the BC team could return back to the US. Either BC team returns or a 5th map team develops to take over the South. No telling at this point. My guess is they need to see how BC plays out first. In the meantime, the BC team returns to the South to see if going Canada now makes sense (now as in before the US is completed). Hopefully Canada does great so that we can continue to get both countries developed simultaneously.

I’m thinking that’s the case too Flight. I feel like Canada gives us another direction and is opening the whole connect to Alaska.

I think Canada will be really good for the development of the game.
Not that I’m losing interest if SCS continues to only add US states as DLC, but I think Canada will bring a breath of fresh air that ATS can really use. A different country with its own peculiarities makes the game much more interesting, and a return to the mountains and vast open areas will be great to distract from the ever more dense eastern US.

Yeah I think it's both the new country aspect and the return to majestic mountain landscapes that will make it feel fresh. We haven't gotten a mountainous DLC in ATS since 2022 with Montana. Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and South Dakota have their moments, but it's not the same as driving through the Rockies.

That change of pace is what I'm thinking. Different country with its own identity. I think that is part of why ETS2 is so strong. All countries are independent and have their own twist. The US is the country. Each state has fewer differences than European countries. Each EST2 country is not the same as each ATS state. The states are united here so lots of similarities and not enough differences. Canada, definitely adds that breath of fresh air. Crossing the border will provide this portal like feel is what I'm hoping. We should see a world that is 60-65%+ different than the US.

I'm expecting BC to be SCS best nature wise for ATS...........if they got with the ETS2 team for landscaping. The landscaping for BC has a lot riding on it. It should surpass anything ProMods Canada has in terms of landscaping. We only get 2/3s of it but that's still more than ProMods currently covers. I've always wondered if SCS would catch ProMods. They pretty much are doing that by going there before the US is done. I totally agree with going to Canada before completing the US. Its equal to going to do AR/MO before going SD/ND. We needed the break in biomes. I think we need a spice up for ATS and Canada could perhaps do that.

Alberta continues more Great Plains. So trying out BC now gives us a huge mountainous region before going back to the Great Plains as that's what Alberta brings. Whether Alberta follows BC immediately or a few years from now doesn't matter. Canada has to start somewhere and we are now getting that. Some people seem to think BC comes early 2027 when we haven't even gotten once a month blogs going for it. BC is has a lot to cover. It can't be underestimated. It will take much longer than the average US state dlc. BC isn't as dense but its a vast territory that will have to fill out.

The BC team started as the WY team. They have produced Montana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. So BC is their 6th. More dlc's by Davido than by anyone else. Wyoming isn't the densest state but (2) Wyoming area wise covers BC's 2/3's that we're said to get. BC will be less dense than (2) Wyoming more than likely but it will still take a lot of effort to fill out the 2/3s we do get.
