It doesn't happen very often, so I have no idea how to reproduce it. Sometimes, when I reach the speed I wanna keep, I enable cruise control and then immediately shift up to the maximum gear. The latter I do for 2 reasons: less noise from the engine and less fuel consumption. But sometimes shifting up disables cruise control altogether which I think shouldn't be happening.
Keyboard, manual sequential.
P.S. Game version - the latest on Steam.

Re: Cruise control disables itself when shifting up
I don't use SCS's build in CC, or Steam, and I could be wrong of course, but I think that is normal CC behavior. I would think you should set your gear and accelerate to the speed you want, then set the CC maintain that speed. Because if you set the CC first, changing anything should disable it. (Gears, brakes, accelerator, etc.) If it doesn't, it wouldn't be very realistic. In my car for example, there is an option to increase or decrease your speed without disabling the CC with buttons on the wheel. But if you don't use that option and you change anything, it turns the CC off. I don't think SCS put anything like that in the game yet.

Re: Cruise control disables itself when shifting up
In all vehicles I’ve driven (truck and car), only the brake and clutch deactivate cruise control (for obvious reasons), apart from the obvious cruise control cancel button. In auto transmission vehicles you can gear up and down sequentially with cruise control active, and in both transmission types use the accelerator with cruise control active.
Never argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Re: Cruise control disables itself when shifting up
I use the SCS CC and when I drive 80 or 85km/hour some gearboxes stick in the 11th gear and I can easily switch to the 12th gear with the CC on it don't disable itself, I can even shifting back and the CC stays on.
Do you us some gearbox mods perhaps?

Re: Cruise control disables itself when shifting up
Yes, but that bug was there long before I started using transmission mods. Besides, my transmission mod only adds an additional gear - nothing fancy.
1. Like I said - that happens only sometimes.
2. If I've set CC and have driven like that for a while and then decide I wanna accelerate at the same or higher gear, CC remains active. In order to avoid disabling CC I must wait for a few seconds to pass before shifting up.
3. The only thing that disables CC is braking.

Re: Cruise control disables itself when shifting up
shift up itself should not disable CC. if the truck controls clutch, its assured it can handle the shift correctly so no disable is needed (CC is re-engaged after shift, internally).
the issue is in that "sometimes". in these moment something happened, that the logic went to conclusion that it cannot safely keep CC active. question is what that was.
typical logical reasons are player controlled clutch (that cuts off powertrain so balancing throttle becomes useless), shift to neutral (same), brake (direct disable input), too small speed (IRL safeguard). other are indirect things like controller noise input on brake (too small deadzone) that creates fake brake impulse etc. your case is probably something similar to theese. something happened that creates condition for CC disable.
so, i need more info. what have you done, and when.
video of the situation could help, maybe.

Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
