I've been thinking about HH about if they will extend it with more states and industries suitable for HH cargo. The Colorado industries blog recently revealed some more possibilities for HH cargo machinery, i'm sure with Idaho they can venture into more cargo variety as well with farming, mining and construction> I'm hoping Idaho surprises us with a farming DLC (wishful thinking) and if it did can only hope they add a few more farming related equipment for the HH side of things.

@howey you and me both buddy. A farming dlc with Idaho would blow my lil mind, lol. Anything that helps Idaho would be justified. We do know that Idaho gets Special Transport from the blog it got the other day. Colorado gets wind turbines which should also be HH/ST cargo. I just hope SCS revisit other states so that we can haul outside of Colorado. For ST loads, we won't get to go very far. But considering trains do haul this stuff, every state that has wind farms, we should be able to haul this stuff. So, I'd add it to the global list of ST cargo.

There are different lengths of blades and towers. Some parts might fit on standard trailers we have now. Some might go on the HH trailers but extend it like the chopper cargo currently does. Orrrrrrrrr, we could get a new extend pole trailer in ATS. Obviously in ATS the blades can't be this long. But 75% of that should be fine. A new extended pole trailer can also be used for bridge supports. So no telling what we get but new cargo is coming at least.

@flight50 you mentioning the lengths of the wind blades and also the extended pole trailer is the main question I thinking on how SCS will tackle this.

1 I'm am kind of hoping that there would be a variety of blade sizes and lengths perhaps so it can suit flatbeds, HH & ST with even a extendable flatbed trailer option to cart them around. With this paragraph in the recent blog "So it's no surprise that Colorado is home to the number one wind turbine company in the USA, with a highly trained workforce that builds more towers than any other facility in the world. With unique parts and equipment always on the move from the factory to wind farms across the states, we hope you will be a BIG fan of this industry" could give us the option to haul the smaller & medium size and length blades to rail and ship ports for export, i'm just looking at ideas on how they could go about this.

The second thing is how they would go about it when it comes to the larger longer blades, afaik on the extended poles trailers there is either a pilot assisting on one group of axles on steering the trailer around bends and corners or they are remote controlled especially when hitting populated areas, so i'm wondering how they will tackle that considering there is nothing like that in the game atm.

You basically read my mind about the pole trailer being used for bridge supports/beams as well, I'm sure there even used on major concrete and gas pipes as well for major projects.

In fact, ATS private transportation is a little disappointing for me. Because it was released 1 year after ETS2 and most cargoes are similar to ETS2. And there are no new warning lights. But it's still nice to support ATS map expansions as soon as they become available. In addition, some cargoes are in absurd regions. What is a mining truck doing at the shipyard in Portland?

We agree on this. SCS previously mentioned private shipping in the Darwing blog post. But we couldn't see an airplane body load. Indeed, some new states may have new special loads, I love this idea.

@howey I to hope for various sizes. That's what I was implying indeed. The longest one though should be ST only. And it won't be to real life length. ATS is not build to go handle that long. The longest I'd go is the longest articulated trailer which is the 9 axle trailer. The main reason, ATS roads are half the width of real life roads. Plus the articulated trailer has 3 pivot points. If we get the extend pole, we only get 2 pivots on the trailer but the blades/beams would get pivots affixed to the articulated trailers. Same for the towers. So those two turbine parts should get escorts. Anything smaller, can go on HH and non piloted transport.

@Sametbey2 all the cargo in ATS needs to be overhauled. There are several cargoes that go to places or picked up from places they shouldn't. Honestly, I think we just have to deal with it for now. Once Texas comes, there should be enough new industries and new companies to overhaul everything. Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Texas....yeah we should get several new cargoes by then. They simple can't do new trucks, new trailers and cargo all at the same time. Something has to take a backseat. My passion is cargo, new companies and new industries, but even I will compromise for new things that must come with new map dlc's. New trailers in new dlc's brings new cargo most times. If they fix things right as they build new trailers, that is cargo they don't have to adjust for the overhaul later on.

We aren't missing too many trailers though. There is livestock, step deck, curtain sider and storage style. I can see all those coming except storage within the next 2-3 years. Livestock is self exclamatory. Stepdecks and curtain siders are popular for facilities without docks so farms fit that nicely. Especially if we get some type of forklift loading cutscene stuff going on.

That's great news Flight50. I haven't had a chance to see what's going on for the past few days.... been offline.

I've hauled ass down the road for cars, trucks, and produce. Now I'm ATS addicted to doing the same thing in a simulation.

I have another round of goodies for Special Transport. This inspiration comes from the Colorado industry "Wind Farming". I have posted some wind farming components on page 43 already. But this particular post is about SCS providing a trailer type that can accommodate more than just a wind turbine blade or bridge support beam as shown on page 43. If SCS can create such a trailer, in can have more than one purpose for sure with simple 3d cargo models. At least I think they are simple. At least compared to farming equipment. Currently, the blades seen in the SCS blogs are fairly undersized. This is a little concerning to me as I have seen these blades hauled in person on the Interstate and they are loooooong, lol. They are awesome to see in transport though. Due to game scale, I wouldn't expect full size length though. It would be next to impossible in ATS but I would like to see at least 80% of the real life size blades. The shortest blade I have come across by Google searching is a 116' blade and the largest upwards 165'. 116' is plenty long for ATS but perhaps too long. About 100'-110' could work possibly. ATS roads are not like real life roads so careful planning will be needed but I know SCS will route these ST loads according.

Below are a few trailers that could be provided as a new type if SCS created something a more suitable trailer to haul these monster blades. We only need one of the below though. Possible cargoes: wind turbine blades, Steel I-beams, Concrete I-beams, long girders, telephone poles, long water pipes, metal electrical towers, long metal tube and what ever else SCS can throw at us. I really like the articulated style. That could suite ATS the best considering we currently have that in the game and we know we can take corners with it. Extend flatbeds would be cool but they are limited in length. The pole type is the simplest perhaps but rounding corners can prove more difficult. Note on pic 5 though, that there is a pivot mount on the pole trailer once the load is strapped down. That can help the load twist properly. Here we go:
