Re: Next ATS truck speculation
The International LT and Lonestar trucks also share a cabin, but they still released both. The 49X interior is full of standard Daimler design pieces. Peterbilt and Kenworth share a number of design elements and common parts as well.
Yes, the 57X is a sister truck to the Cascadia, but it isn't exactly the same. The currently available 49X is very rarely spec'd as a proper OTR highway truck, it is almost always seen the wild as a vocational truck instead. So if we get the 57X, it will be the first proper WS aerocab we would have in game. The 49X was the result of a strong partnership between WS and SCS, and I would not be at all surprised to see WS partner with SCS once again when the 57X comes out.
I don't know what this might mean for a hypothetical 5700XE or 4900 model. We can hope that at some point some of these older unreleased projects will get pushed through to completion and released to us, but it is very much speculation now.

I agree. I really do hope the Western Star 57X will make an appearance in ATS. It will be much more fitting than the 49X since it's an actual OTR truck.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Like it or not, 57X will arrive. All i'm hoping is that they'll throw the 5700XE into the mix. And like it or not as well, similar-identical things already happened, its funny how you never mention things like how the Mack engine and the Volvo engine is literally the same, etc. Those are definitely quite an important thing too, if it was me i would've preferred that the Mack doesn't use the same engines as Volvo despite being under the same roof or whatnot.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Even with that Volvo and Mack won't share same sleeper cab or interior such as Peterbilt and Kenworth. Yes we will see 57X no matter what but the crucial part is, if they skip 5700 or 4900 then that will be a huge disappointment.
As the community I hate the logic that people believes older trucks cannot be added in the game. With 9900I you guys should believe and request the older trucks from SCS as the players.
About 49X, ETS2 is there for 10 years. ATS is there for 6 years. Yeah SCS was a small company but it'll growing better and better. Company has still some limits but the ridiculous thing is, the players has limited requests as well. What do you guys mean that 49X isn't an OTR truck so 57X suits better? Instead of discussing that we should add vocational trucks and add different truck variety and different gameplay options, we are thinking that the game should keep it's status like it used to be. With that logic you only can get semi trucks which is currently producing by manifacturers and get map DLC's until entire world map ended or we die.
As the players we draw the route of SCS development. Everybody agrees about truck sounds are horrible and they decided to make new recordings. That's the latest example. If most of you would say that : use sound mods, it's not that important then you won't see any movement from SCS about that. Or on map side we made them to add Yellowstone in Wyoming. SCS started growing enough to make us discussing about vocational trucks, older trucks, different gameplay options. So consider thinking like that and act like a customer.

Facebook post with some branded trailers coming, can’t wait as they have showcased flatbed types which are my favourite to haul!

@DAFmanXFE6 This is a truck speculation tho. Not a trailer speculation thread.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Still has an effect as comes from the vehicle team, given other media releases it’s now very likely that the next truck would be the WS and not the VNL given trailers are what’s been worked on until recently.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
No, trailers have been discussed recently, that's very different from what's being worked on.

Found this 49X on Facebook. Are the roof deflectors a company offering? (Picture credits to the respective owner)

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
The WS 49X and Cascadia actually have a lot of different cockpit options and accessories. SCS gives us only 3-4 options.
