Western Star bragging about using real stainless steel on their trucks, just to end up gluing them together.

It's quite strange to position the 49x as a super reliable and unkillable truck, and at the same time glue parts on glue. Bolts and nuts sigh sadly...

To be fair, glue is not a bad thing to use where it make sense (for the record, Lotus barely weld anything on their cars, instead they use some sort of superglue), but you have to use it where it make sense and nowhere else

Well, the 57X will definitely not have such hood problem in the game. :D And it can still be presented for advertising. As for this problem, it will certainly be fixed on production trucks.

You know guys, after reading one too many comment about quality of the older models, I wonder why we can't get ourselves in gear instead of complaining and update the original models ourselves, like what Schumi did on ETS2 side of the forum...

@rookie_one a polished poop is still a poop.
The "old 5" in ATS are so bad, that they would require a rebuild from scratch. For that you would need an accurate, high quality model, optimised to work in the game.
That said, there still exist mods that kinda (not really) do that. At least for the Peterbilts...
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

@Wolfi At least we could make them more bearable than they currently are

I thought the Interior Reworks mod by AlexeyP was nice to make the trucks much more bearable on the inside, but sadly it seems like the mod is no longer updated as the thread was closed.

While I agree it would be nice to focus on new stuff instead, there really doesn’t seem to be any indication of a new truck coming soon, unless I missed something.
There was a bunch of sound recordings I guess, but those could be used 5 years from now. :)

We seldom get indication that a truck is coming most of the times until its within that 1-2 month window for release. I'd imagine we'd get at least one more before the year is out though. Daimler and International seem pro SCS lately. Its the others that need to show up or SCS needs to give attention to. One or the other. Volvo is the next best candidate though. The new VNL is long over due. But anything is better than nothing at all. The Pinnacle and the HX have high chances too. Less work to complete but when you look at the others in the poll, there's a bit more work to complete a truck. Whether some chassis are the same or just flat out from scratch model is the question. But I'm ready to see a proper poll reset. The last poll didn't proper reset the field so the numbers are skewed.

Wish Volvos and Paccars get some love. I'm positive that either VNL/Pinnacle would make it to the game this year. Paccars? Still not sure. As I said, they need more love tbh.
