Next ATS truck speculation
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Seerman: Electric cars and source of electricity should be seen as two different things. It’s not like more Thermal power plants are gonna commissioned with the growing demand of electricity. As Carl said there is also a shift towards cleaner energy sources and like it or not, that is how things are gonna progress.
And never, ever underestimate the scientific community. Sources of energy will not be the only direction of development. Many are working on compact, energy efficient long-range batteries. Many work on managing the resultant waste and also reduce emissions caused by both power plan’s and existing IC engines.
Moreover it boils down to how much GHGs are emitted. I’m not even gonna talk about the emission figures of ICEs or the operating costs of EVs.

Pertaining to the context of this thread, we should stop acting like Electric trucks (or even trucks running in alternative fuel sources like CNG or LNG) doesn’t exist at all. They are slowly gaining prominence. Recently there has been a stark increase in the frequency of electric vehicles on road (heck, even public transportation has seen a boom) and it will increase further.
Say if I’m an operator running the business all over the country, I can set up charging stations at my own garages and still use an EV to haul cargo from Washington to Florida. I don’t see why it should be impossible in the game. It’s a matter of user’s preference and nothing else.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
People tend to forget about fuel cell hydrogen electric trucks, they are here, and they are on the roads now. I truly believe they would be an excellent addition to the game(s). Not only the trucks, but the parts also. We could haul hydrogen, tanks for hydrogen, batteries, etc. I am sure that one day they'll come to both games.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
I don't mind to have electric trucks but I don't want to see Tesla models until we get the trucks which produced between 2015-2022.
But the thing is SCS should change the fueling mechanics in the game. Battery should recharge in seperate place. Not only that I think we should have add our def and gasoline differently. It's not a hard thing to implement but SCS is really lazy about changing the gameplay.

I have nothing against electric trucks. I just don't want Tesla. No problem with any of the majors getting an e-truck in ATS.

You are correct. That person recently said they changed their mind when I confronted a more recent post than the boycott. This was about a month ago when he spoke that he' s now waiting on Texas. I know who you speak of but I won't post the name this go around. The comment toward SCS that they can shove it was quite rude so I remember it vividly.xXCARL1992Xx wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022 07:08 someone wanted to boycott the game when Texas was released with the new Aron gas station it was i think ? because he was offended with the color choice it had
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Yeah if they wanted to put in electric trucks good for them, just because it's in the game doesn't mean I have to drive it. I'm not a huge fan of the older style trucks, and likely wouldn't drive them much if more came to the game, but I'd be happy if they did come to the game.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
getting out the truck and walk around some yards within limits(3-5 meters width limits along truck and trailer) can provide all the implementations we request.[ external image ]
(refuel, filling def, sliding tandem, changing refrigerator temperature and other "directly simulation related" implementation that are out of cabin)

Here we go again…
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Tomorrow International will present its new truck. Judging by the silence from the SCS, most likely we will not have this truck...
I translate via Google Translate. Sometimes he does it badly. I beg understand and forgive.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
eh, this walk around gameplay its not really a top priority, Plus not really the thread to talk about it ether.
Anyway, as much as I hate electric vehicles, If scs wants to add them, add them. but it won't be my kind of vehicle. Specially the miles they have compared to diesel fueled trucks.
