Re: Mack R Series (v1.3)
I am hoping someone has found a fix or work around for this, but ever since 1.51 dropped. This truck works fantastically and I have no issues with the base rig. The problem is that I don't think "Dielingwu" is either making mods anymore or has any intent on doing anything with the Mack R Add-On pack he originally released. Anything from his pack that is chrome has a weird texture bug almost like a UV layer or file is messed up. The chrome guards and all the interior chrome have an odd blue anodized look or they are some kind of rainbow multi-color.
I have tried playing with the load order, I even tried removing all my trucks and drivers, selling everything off, going to the loading screen and removing every mod, and then enabling the two packs and nothing else, and still get the same result. The truck by itself has no issues its that R700 Sleeper add-on that causes the issue. I was looking to remake the rubber duck after Kris K passed and noticed that nothing I do makes it ok.
Has anyone else seen this or found a solution?
***10/16/2024*** UPDATE!! This issue has been resolved. I was able to fix it using an optional add-on from the "Haterbuilt Experience" by Hateryu on FB!

I checked my R700 w/sleeper and there was no problem with the chrome gauges.

Re: Mack R Series (v1.3)
While I can not say for sure, how or why I was able to fix the issue with the "new chrome" optional file that comes inside the Haterbuilt Experience mod, I placed that file at the very TOP of the load order last Saturday morning, and ever since I have put that there, every piece of chrome in the game has become a radiant and polished part. I don't know what Hateryu did differently or how they coded that optional add-on but it completely fixed every single chrome visual defect in my game. Like I said, I left all the rest of the load order the same. I followed the add-on road map for how to layer them, and then just put that one at the very top ahead of all the others and since then I have not seen a single visual defect. So, that's why I marked my original post solved. I don't know why it is working, but boy is it ever working!granitesquare wrote: ↑11 Oct 2024 21:39 I checked my R700 w/sleeper and there was no problem with the chrome gauges.
Thank you for the reply though, I appreciate you taking the time to post that yours was good so I at least knew for sure it was on my end and in turn, something I could fix.
Cheers,

Yeah (again sorry for late response) I've done a little more research into transmissions, gear and differential ratios. You're right.PikPikker wrote: ↑26 May 2023 11:56 @iskimii, you do not actually need a 18-speeder if you want low RPM on high speeds. What is enough is an overdrive transmission (Mack had some of them, the 10-speeder for example) coupled with a low differential ratio. The lowest available for old Mack is 3.87, but no one can stop you from implementing a 3.7, 3.55 or even 2.47 ratio. Talking about the last number, it can be easily paired with a direct drive transmission (1.0 last gear) and the result will give you what you need.

Re: Mack R Series (v1.3)
are there any mods out there that add oversize banners for the front bumper? and if this had those banners, would the Superliner mod inherit them automatically?

@harven
Hi. Your mod is perfect. I love to drive this old Mack. Especially in Utopia map
:)
Could you please add a sound of changing gears to transmissions? I mean the air_gear.soundref. The grinding sound works well but the transmission not making any sound when a gear is hopping in. If you want I can send you an air_gear.soundref that has a nice sound.
I appreciate your work.
