bumbumek wrote: 09 Jan 2022 23:43 Thank you dear. So having tmp_buffers_size 1000 with my mm_max_resource_size 32 is harmless, and shouldn't do anything wrong in my game? :D Sorry for all those questions, I'm really no computer expert :|
those numbers are just optimization. or rather fine-tuning to your hardware and data (mods).
the game will try to load anything it has to. but if you load too many resources and have set insufficient count of buffers, some of them must wait and it will take longer. if you load big resources, and have set too small buffers, game must allocate new one and it takes longer. if you have too little memory, it increases need for swapping (and in some special cases crash due to insufficient memory). trick is that you need to use your memory and split it to "best" number of buffers for your usage. this kind of optimization.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

@Max It was you who suggested these launch parameters a long time ago. The use of those parameters saved ATS for me. Thanks again.

Someone who can say some good parameters like tmp_buffers_size - mm_max_resource_size etc? I have kind of map mods, traffic mods, truck mods, trailer mods.

My PC:

I7 8700K

16 GB memory

Nvidia geforce 1070 TI

With 64g of memory, would I need a parameter? I know I like the no intro

This is what I currently use

-nointro -mm_pool_size 8000 -mm_max_resource_size 80 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000
Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550
Asus Ryzen 9 5800x3D
Asus Geforce 4080 RTX OC Edition
64GB DDR4 Ram 3600Mhz
EVGA 850W Power Supply
2 TB NVME PCIE gen 4
Windows 10

Your pool size value is restricting you to less than 16GB of RAM. For 32GB the value should be: 16384.
A max resource size that high is only needed if you actually have mods loading resource files that are more than 70MB in size. For most mods 40 will work fine.

Bigger is not always better.

@Milan1NL

-mm_pool_size 8192 (For 16GB of RAM)

I use these. If you have a truck mod with big textures, increase max resource size if necessary.

-mm_max_resource_size 40
-mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000
