Here's a map I drew out of WA with the cities and roads I believe should make it into the WA DLC. Kind of based off of the pre-production map in the ATS files.

Grey roads are roads that can be optional to be added/unnecessary. To be honest, I think the densitiy of roads should be increased from more than just interstates and highways because of the recent detours feature, and having more back-roads would give much more options for alternate routes if you run into a detour.

NOTE: Map is not to ATS scale.
I like your map better then my old map from 2015 or 2016!!! You did a great job and I agree with your map. Even including Forks as a timber town location is great. I do find it hard not to include Longview. It is such an integral industrial port. Vancouver Washington is too.

Thanks, although I have a more improved version of it that removes Longview because with the issue of those two sections of Portland sticking into WA, Vancouver would have to be moved up a bit and that Vancouver-Longview section of I-5 would be too short to include Longview IMO. Maybe as a scenery/unmapped town, sure, but at the moment I don't see Longview making it into the game unless SCS found a solution for the Portland/Vancouver map issue.

Mmm, Washington state...

Someone mentioned the show Twin Peaks, the cafe is in North Bend, just off I-90, would make a nice touch of realism, but not sure how much pop culture SCS wants to bring into the game. Snoqualmie Falls is in the area too.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Snoqu ... 21.8376923

I-90 winding through the Cascades to Seattle is very scenic, very dense forests on both sides.

https://www.google.com/maps/@47.4085838 ... 384!8i8192 (nice shot of the road textures)

I-82 coming up from Yakima to i-90 has some good grades and curves. There's a nice alternate there (821) for driving by the river, though not sure if it's used by truckers or not :D...

https://www.google.com/maps/@46.7133227 ... 384!8i8192

Seattle's got the Alaskan Way Viaduct, but I heard it's gonna be torn down cause they are building a tunnel.

Lastly, I-90/I-5 interchange, view of Seattle from Columbia Center (Mt. Rainer dominates the skyline, it would be most impressive to see in game just like IRL).

A Twin Peaks easter egg would be amazing! Make it happen, SCS! :D :D

@NWbyNW. Actually, I'd take your map. It is much denser. After zooming into Google maps a bit more, there are quite a few more roads than even Oregon. Eastern Washington actually has quite a descent little road network. Outside of California, this is the densest road network we can get until SCS can push East to the Great Plains. ATS is in dire need of a busier road network. Especially with the cool new detour feature. Denser roads helps this feature in the long run. The Western US typically has larger states than most European countries. If SCS can cram dense roads into smaller ETS2 countries, if the road is not restricted, I'd think SCS would attempt to give us a denser map at the dlc's release date rather than add 1-2 roads after release. New roads can always be added over the course of time sure, but it would might be nicer to just hold the dlc a little longer to pack it more.

I definitely agree there, an increase in "road density" would be great for future state maps. Plus, WA's population is almost double of that of OR.

Washington State's Major Airports

[ external image ]
The orange highlights the roads that would show up in ATS

So pretty much every new state for ATS is gonna have an airport chosen as the state's primary aerial logistics/freight depot for ATS. WA state has a HUGE aerospace industry & footprint since it's home to the world's largest aerospace firm, Boeing! The Seattle area has 3 primary airports that are very close to each other, and a 4th major airport north of Seattle in nearby Everett. You have Sea-Tac International Airport (KSEA), Boeing Field (KBFI), Renton Municipal Airport (KRNT), and Paine Field (KPAE).

Sea-Tac International Airport (KSEA) basic info:

Prime Industry for ATS: Air Freight/Air Logistics

Possible Company Names for this Depot:
  • Cascade Air Cargo
  • Seattle Cargo Center
  • PNW Air Freight
  • Northwest Air Freight
  • Pacific Northwest Air Freight
  • Emerald Air Cargo (Seattle's nickname is "Emerald City")
  • SEA Air Cargo
Sea-Tac is the general international major airport that serves the Seattle area, like PDX, PHX, and ABQ in the other states, and it serves as major hub for air freight logistics. Here is a map/PDF document from the Port of Seattle highlighting the cargo centers at Sea-Tac airport.

Boeing Field Airport (KBFI) basic info:

Prime Industry for ATS: Air Freight/Air Logistics, and an aerospace manufacturing company (ATS version of Boeing), and a railyard.

Possible Company Names for the Cargo Center:
  • Cascade Air Cargo
  • Seattle Cargo Center
  • PNW Air Freight
  • Northwest Air Freight
  • Pacific Northwest Air Freight
  • Emerald Air Cargo (Seattle's nickname is "Emerald City")
  • BFI Air Cargo
Possible Company Names for a fictional ATS version of Boeing:
  • Cascade Aircraft Company
  • Rainier Aerospace
  • Emerald Aircraft Company
  • Boing Company (lol)
  • Orca Aerospace
  • Or somehow get a license for Boeing's name and use their actual name instead (Boeing Company)
Boeing Field is another major air freight hub for Seattle, although it's cargo center is much smaller than that of Sea-Tac. However unlike Sea-Tac, Boeing Field, as the name suggests, is one of the airports that serves the aerospace giant Boeing and has a 737 Flight Line on the Northwest side of the airport. Boeing produces the 737 airliner at the Renton Plant, and after the aircraft is complete, it is flown on a short hop to Boeing Field for the rest of it's test flights and finishing touches before being send off to the customer carrier/airline/operator. It would certainely be a mistake to not add some form of Boeing in the WA map for ATS, but it would indeed be awesome if all 3 Boeing airports make it into the WA map so we can deliver to all 3 major plants. Maybe there can even be a special achievement for delivering to all 3 Boeing plants. Also, this would be a great opportunity to include more cargo for both heavy haul and special transport DLC's.

There's also a railyard right by the airport and I-5, so a Rail Export can be added too.

Renton Municipal Airport (KRNT) basic info:

Prime Industry for ATS: Aerospace manufacturing company (ATS version of Boeing), and the Kenworth Renton Manufacturing Plant

Possible Company Names for a fictional ATS version of Boeing:
  • Cascade Aircraft Company
  • Rainier Aerospace
  • Emerald Aircraft Company
  • Boing Company (lol)
  • Orca Aerospace
  • Or somehow get a license for Boeing's name and use their actual name instead (Boeing Company)
Renton is the smallest of the 3 Boeing airports and is where Boeing produces the 737 airliner before sending it to Boeing Field for final delivery & customer test flights. Not only does Renton Airport have the Boeing 737 plant, but it also has the Kenworth/PACCAR Renton Manufacturing Plant right by the airport in that large business area/district. Having Kenworth in WA as a depot/company is a no-brainer just like Scania and Volvo in ETS2, but since it's right by Renton Airport, it would also be neat if the Boeing plant there makes it in as well, after all it's right by Kenworth's plant.

Paine Field Airport (KPAE) basic info:

[ external image ]
The orange highlights the roads that would show up in ATS

Prime Industry for ATS: Aerospace manufacturing company (ATS version of Boeing)

Possible Company Names for a fictional ATS version of Boeing:
  • Cascade Aircraft Company
  • Rainier Aerospace
  • Emerald Aircraft Company
  • Boing Company (lol)
  • Orca Aerospace
  • Or somehow get a license for Boeing's name and use their actual name instead (Boeing Company)
Paine Field is where Boeing produces all their "wide-body" airliners such as the 767, 777, 787 Dreamliner, and the famous 747 jumbo jet, as well as the military KC-46 refueling tanker. Unlike Sea-Tac or Boeing Field, Paine Field doesn't really have any air freight ops and is primarily a general-aviation airport and obviously the host for Boeing's wide-body airliner plant. So really the only industry here is just an aerospace manufacturing company in ATS.

So yea. Not only is there 2 major cargo airports for Seattle, but 3 our of the 4 airports in the Seattle area are home to the world's largest aircraft manufacture. Some form of Boeing needs to make it into the WA map DLC for ATS and I think it would be a mistake to not add some form of Boeing.

Good post. I had missed the 3rd Boeing location in Renton in my own post on page 2, which is ironic because my dad works at that one currently (he's worked at all 3 locations).

Oh by the way, it's literally ONE block away from the Kenworth plant. SCS, take notes! :D
