[REL] Daniels Random Events

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check chapters [4] and [5] of Forum Rules.

This mod adds over 45 new random events (several of which have more than one variation) to appear on the roads in ETS2.

Notes:
- The 'city' events will only spwan in urban areas.
- Some of these are tweaked versions of ones originally created by SCS
that i have tweaked to improve them.
- Others are completely new ones that i have created myself.
- All of my events feature different levels of rarity depending on the event so
some events you will see more often than others.
- I have also tweaked the 'roadwork' random events on the highways to improve the cone tapers.

Changes in V1.3.2 (Released: 24/12/2020):
  • Added new variant of recovery truck (folded crane)
  • Created new 'narrow' version of roadworks that will spawn in city areas
  • Converted 'geyser' (burst pipe scene) from ATS and added to city roadworks
  • Converted 'channel' events (bumpy drain covers) from ATS and made spawn in city areas
  • Added warning triangle to more events
  • Created new 'cleanup' scene and added to single lane accident events

  • Fixed missing texture file for VMS sign.

Changes in V1.3 (Released: 08/05/2020):
  • Replaced old traffic/highways vans with new versions that include the flashing beacon lights.
  • Completely improved/remade cone tapers on highway roadworks events.
  • Created new roadworks scenes for city areas that close a lane.
  • Added accidents that half block lane to single lane roads and city areas.
  • Added recovery truck with broken down vehicle scenes to single lane roads.

Changes in V1.2 (Released: 18/12/2019):
  • Made the cones in the cone tapers now light up in the correct order (NOTE: after testing found that there are still issues with this but these issues can also be seen in SCS's cones so don't think there is a way to completely fix this currently).
  • Increased the length of the cone tapers to make them more realistic.
  • Made the cones in the cone tapers adjust their position dynamically to reflect the curve in the road.
  • Tweaked breakdown events to have vehicle to the side of the road instead of in the middle.
  • Made broken down cars sometimes have smoke.
  • Made breakdown events sometimes have warning triangle placed before them.
  • Added VMS sign to sometimes warn the player of accidents / lane closures ahead instead of always having the van with flashing arrow.
  • Added several new events.
  • Decreased frequency of single lane events.
  • Tweaked the positioning of emergency vehicles at the events to make them look more realistic.
  • Added more people to the events.

Hi All

So i have been creating some new random events based on the SCS ones but with a couple of tweaks to make them in my opinion more realistic and better.

Some of the tweaks i have made include adding vehicles on the hard shoulder before the event to give the player more warning, increasing the cone taper size and other tweaks.

Looks nice But how will the merging go with the Ai on the hard shoulder?
Enjoying ATS Trucking along C2C map and CanaDream With RicksATS mod since C2C v1.2

Been Beta Testing C2C since V2.2

Played C2C Before the ATS v1.5 Rescale came out

Thanks for the kind words guys. They really do mean a lot.

This is on the very latest ETS2 version.

Also there is no AI on the hard shoulder.

Eventually I hope to release it. Firstly though I need to fix a few issues that I have come across with this. For example on the curves the cones aren't going with the curve but staying in a straight line.
