Utah Discussion Thread
Re: Utah Discussion Thread
@flight50
You make some good points there. But what's going to connect to the 191, and where? There are adverse reactions appearing already about interfering with that landscape near the bend, at the location I mentioned. So what's going to be realistic to place in this area, whilst avoiding having huge crowds appearing outside the SCS head office in protest, causing civil unrest for months?
I do agree with the back roads mention, as I get so bored of highways. A junction/turn off keeps me engaged in the delivery. Where as just steering a little to the left/right on highways occasionally does get dull, when one could have an alternative option.
I do not find landmarks/view points to be any interesting. So I'd be unlikely to even notice something significant being removed to make way for a junction.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
UT-95 is what would connect to US-191. With all the open space in Southern Utah, even UT-276 could make the game. Its requires a ferry though. UT-276 can be exaggerated as much as it needs to be. As long as the connection @ US-191 is right and if Torrey is positioned right, UT-95 and UT-24 can be adjusted according to get it all to fit. Same with UT-12. Get it positioned right to connect to US-89 and play around with the road to get it to fit.

MT269, what do you mean with "connect to the 191, and where?"
Only part of US-191 not driveable, is the part north of Vernal. Or rather, it is locked off and not finished. And quite likely to change how it looks now.
flight50, I would call the southern US-89 connection more likely. Northern should be possible too?

B-Double trailer and short modes: EN 7.82 swap body, 20’ or 30’ containers.
Standalone 40' mode: EN 7.82 swap body, 20', 30', 40' or 2 x 20' trailer.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
Richfield is already in the game as scenic on Northern US-89. It seems better to have 2 access points to Torrey. One from the North and one from the South. If we go from SLC to Torrey, it makes more sense to go thru Richfield vs going South to go back North to Torrey that way. Coming from US-191, that one connection is all we need. It would be great if UT-24 had space to connect to I-70 near US-191 too but its not the end of the world if it doesn't. It just destroys too much to trying getting it in there.

@Shiva
An oversight. I'm not good with American highway names. I meant the 70 which heads east-west in the map you linked to. I was under the impression that the 191 was the 70. From what I can tell, the 24 and 72 definitely have a place in the game.
And it would be great to have some of the tiny outposts as marked towns if space/scaling permits that is.
The map also shows that the 24 connects to the 70 at a location which does not interfere with the hairpin bend. I'm sure there is a work around that will not result in destroying the alleged landmark. If such a change happens to be a reality, then the players will have to take it with a pinch of salt.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
This was fixed in 1.40. The distance changed from 105 miles to 142 miles though, when the real-life distance is 105 miles. I assume that this was done to reflect the gameplay better since there are no services in Green River in-game. In ATS, the next services from Salina are in Crescent Junction at the US-191 interchange, which is past Green River.supersobes wrote: ↑16 Oct 2020 16:14 I was looking at I-70 in Utah today, and I notice that SCS made a big mistake with one of the most iconic things about this road! I-70 between Salina and Green River is the longest stretch of highway on the Interstate system with no services such as fuel, food, and restrooms. This means that on I-70 Eastbound approaching exit 56, there is plaques under the signs that say "Next Services - 105 Miles." SCS put the signs on the Westbound side instead of the Eastbound side!

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
So did they add the gas station at Exit 56 & I70?. I looked at the real-life spot and it has a diesel fill-up spot for trucks but in-game it doesn't.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
The fuel island at the truck stop off exit 56 was there when Utah released. In 1.37, SCS made changes to the truck stop fuel islands, and the one at this truck stop was accidentally deleted. 1.40, that bug has been fixed.
Re: Utah Discussion Thread
Ah ok, thank you.
Re: Utah Discussion Thread
What I've been wondering: Is it normal (in real life) to occasionally have 3 traffic lights for 2 lanes or is this just a thing in ATS?
