Re: Utah Discussion Thread
The Mountains can be improved in Utah with better assets, but the backside of I-80 and I-84 just need to figure out how to fit in and look nice at the same time.
Take black hole over well known landmark, and there are holes all over the map New Mexico has some holes as well same with Oregon and Idaho.

^Agreed and I honestly wonder if with Wyoming coming, can that areas get adjusted. Maybe reworked a bit to blend into Wyoming perhaps.

MT269, oh, the 1 at https://www.google.com/maps/@38.9221672 ... 0089,16.5z .
Would need a major redesign to get that in. And getting rid of San Rafael Swell Top View Area, I think.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
UT-24 @ US-191 will not work, will not fit, don't try it, leave it alone, lol. SCS had it on the dds file and decided not to add it. Its not worth the effort. Just connect UT-24 in Richfield or Sigurd. Anything tweaked on I-70 will remove some huge rock formation structures that starts to define I-70 in that area. Its perhaps the most scenic Interstate in the entire game and the further we get East, the more people will enjoy driving thru it vs getting off of it to begin with. At least that's how I feel about it. Once Kansas is in place there or other stops to make before you get to this area.
We can get Southern Utah filled in without altering anything at or near US-191 though. For the longest, I argued about the same thing that is was possible connecting UT-24 near US-191 as well. But it wasn't until I finally got into the dev camera and zoom in to check out everything that would have to change. I'm usually optimistic about changes but this is not one of them. Too much work and it messes up a good thing that is already in place.

flight50, that is why I am against the addition of that interchange.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
I was thinking that maybe they could remove the 191 in it's entirety to create an even greater void in this unique part of the US. Then 3 years later, put it back in place, and claim that UT finally has additions to it's skeleton road network.
Does this sound practical?
It will obviously be SCS's choice as to whether they permit the black hole to stand, or expand the UT road network. Adding to this thread has no influence whatsoever over their decisions.

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
Adding to thread is called feedback and the devs decide quite more than you think on what to implement. This specific matter for UT-24 is only one of perhaps 100+ request for Utah alone. They won't bother with everything we say but they do in fact read these threads. But because they don't respond and/or implement (x) change, doesn't mean they ignored us. It means that its not a priority or just not on the menu to implement.

They are rebuilding California.
Re: Utah Discussion Thread
That's the base game though, available to all players. If they don't upgrade it now, prospective players in the future will not want to get into the game if they see that the base game map has aged very poorly. Keeping them in the long term is a different issue entirely, but re-doing the base game map is a start. *
I wonder if SCS has information regarding what roads players drive on in ATS and how frequently they do it, and if they take that into consideration when it comes to updates to the road network. A lack of players travelling to south east New Mexico might explain why we still don't have finished US60 and US285; same for southern Utah. A counterpoint might be that if SCS would just implement these road into the game, then players would want to travel in these areas.
* If you look at the achievements on Steam for American Truck Simulator, it would seem that a majority of players don't own the DLCs, considering how little of the DLC achievements have been "achieved".

Re: Utah Discussion Thread
I'm confused. But we do have US-285. It goes from Vaughn to Carlsbad. Then US-60 goes from Vaughn to Clovis but its not in the Southeast. Southeastern, Southern, Eastern and Northeastern NM will all become more valid once Texas comes. So SCS might tweak things a little then. Same way Northern NM got a little love and became more valid when Colorado hit. Utah on the other hand, there is no reason to keep the Southern portion so vacant. Its not Arizona dependent at all. The route thru Southern Utah is quite gorgeous yet its missing in action. We'd need the town of Torrey to become marked though to validate any of that path. Its the best town for any industry. There is a solid 2-3 depots that could come to make that route worth it. I see Torrey, Utah just like I see Clifton, Az. Nice road that makes connections from two opposite US highways. UT-24, UT-12 and UT-95 can all be Utah's Clifton.
Some may think that route in Southern Utah is pointless, others think its necessary. Either way, people would travel it just because its available. The problem is.........its not there. Not everyone wants to travel by interstate. Some of us have more love for the backroads. I'm a scenic type guy so I'd take backroads as much as I can. The Interstates sometimes puts me to sleep, lol. The more scenic routes, the better. Imo, its the scenic things in ATS that is putting it on the map. Whether it is scenic roads, famous landmarks or more accurate roads and cities, something draws people to keep playing the game. Every state has something to offer though. I just don't think some maximizes that output. Every state has a chance to be more complete than what they are. Will this happen, no telling but time will tell. We sure as heck can speak up about them to let the devs know we are interested. Holes in the map is unsightly for one. But mainly, we just need as many route options as possible. Let the player choose the route they want to take. Just provide the road for us to get there.
