How to revert to older version of ETS2?

How do you revert back to an older version of the game when you are forced to use steam, who automatically updates it whether you want the updates or not, and therefore are unable to reinstall your original version?

I initially bought ETS2 in 2016 and that is the version I want to go back to.

No good idea mate... Seems you need some patches between 1.23 and 1.266

Right click on the game title in the Steam list and select: Properties->Betas, from the drop down list there you can choose one of the many temporary compatibility builds.
Be aware that your current profile will not work and you will have to start a fresh profile. Also, every DLC newer than the game version you choose will not work anymore.

Thanks gents and yep, I understand about the DLC's. Only DLC's I have are from 2016 so (theoretically) they should be fine, if not - so be it.

I have a computer that's working in newer areas under the 30 fps (1.54/55), but in older versions is more stable. In the Euro Truck Simulator 2's betas tab, don't exist anymore temporary versions 1.34, 1.33, 1.32 and 1.30 to below. Why it happens this?

Steam only allows a certain number of beta's and as new versions are released, older less used versions are removed.
