Hello, I know I'm a bit late to the party but here some tips for a future rework of the city of Gijon to improve the realism. and Tips for others zones of Asturias (Principado de Asturias).

Gijon is the 15th most populated city of Spain, 2th most populated on the Cantabric coast behind Bilbao and most populated than A Coruña.
I feel that currently in game Gijon have potential to be improved a lot with not much work, making it feel more realistic.
  • First some mistakes in Gijon streets currently in game, and also some tips:
    • Avenue “Principe de Asturias” I would talk about is the big avenue that goes from the highway to the Port Entrance.
      (In game -69491.8;399.244;29295.3;2.33191;-1.3246)
      (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Av.+d ... -5.6866023)
Currently in game the avenue is 2 lanes per direction in some places and 1 lane perdirection in others.
In Real life this avenue is 3 lanes per direction all the way, I know that maybe redo the avenue with 3 lanes per direction will cause problems with other places of the map and misaligments thats why I think that the avenue should be rebuild with at least 2 lanes per direction all the way from the highway to roundabout in the port entrance.
      [ external image ]
      [ external image ]
Other things that can be improved are some missing exits or others wrongly done (Orange lines in the in game capture)( intersection between Principe de Asturias and avenue de los Campones (https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6893439), and some missing traffic light for one of the missing exits(green stars)(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6822567).
And Also this avenue has a radar placed where the limit change from 80 to 50km/k(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6907484).
Edit: a better view of the mistakes in Avenue Principe de Asturias and Avenue de los Campones.
      [ external image ]
As you can see in the image the red circle indicates that the Avenue Principe de Asturias has 3 lanes per direction IRL, in game has 2 lanes per direction except in this place that as only one per direction, so a good thing is to upgrade and making it full 2 lanes per direction(ideally 3 lanes per direction), the purple Star marks the position of a radar just in the place where the speed limit changes from 80km/h to 50km/h radar is set at 50km/h and only for traffic entering.
Black lines indicates the real exists to the left that pass under the avenue to incorporate to Avenue de los Campones, green indicates grass IRL, the orange circle indicates that avenue de los Campones has 2 lanes per direction that start were all the exits merge, but maybe in game if the avenue Principe the asturias remains only 2 per direction Avenue de los Campones could remain as 1 per direction.
      This is the real intersection
Also if you model this whell there is a new fuel station for cars in the middle of this intersection and several buildings
    • Intersection between Avenue de los Campones and Camino Melón (In game:-69836.7;73.1675;29578.2;0.720321;-0.451545)
      [ external image ]
As you can see in the photo the red arrows mark the lanes of the intersection and only has one lane per direction as a one way lane, Avenue de los Campones in the orange circle has 2 lanes per direction (But if avenue principe de Asturias remains with only 2 lanes that can remain with one lane)
Also blue circle indicates the placement of an famous and important canned food manufacturer, Litoral(owned by Nestle España currently), if you want to add more industries to Gijón this can be one that can be added without adding more roads.
      This is the real intersection
    • Gijon Port Entrance, (In game -70624.3;23.3268;28866.4;-0.432494;-0.182339)(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6953156)
the current in game entrance control don't have the enter barriers. In real life this is one of the access controls to the port and has barriers, as you can see on google streetview.
      [ external image ]
      [ external image ]
Also the sculture in the roundabout in real life is not placed inside de roundabout, is placed inside the triangle that the enter and exit lanes form.
      [ external image ]
There are also another checkpoints currently missing in game on the way to the container terminal
    • The area around the Iveco dealer is wrongly done,(In game:-70494;263.391;29722.5;-1.85581;-0.954628)
      [ external image ]
As you can see in the photo the street that you model in front off the dealer don't exist in Real life you can't shortcut across that street(Red zebra) because is the street of the parking lot of a factory, and end in a wall, with other factory on the other side(pink zebra), to cross you must follow the lines marked in black crossing all the roundabouts.
Also the real Iveco dealer entrance is marked with the purple arrow, is a steep entrance IRL.
This dealer is a big one (Talleres Antuña) and have service IRL, currently in game you placed the Gijon service where a Rail Freight depot is placed IRL, so probably is better to change the service to the same place the dealer is, makes more sense and is reallistic.
(As suggestion the road in the orange circle ends in the intersection between Camino Melón and Avenue de los Campones, that maybe can be include in game as a shortcut, you can see that intersection in a previous photo)
      Real life location
By the way the fuel station you modeled in construction in this area is finished and working since many years, is intended for cars
    • The service and rest area(in game -70646.7;148.585;29476.5;-0.167136;-0.987206)(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.7042815)
      [ external image ]
      [ external image ]
      • The place chosen for the service area in real life is a freight train station now mostly unused. (Red circle in the google maps capture)
I feel that is more accurate to include the service station in the Iveco dealer, because in real life is exactly in the same point as in game is, and is a big dealer and also has service, or put the service in other place that has a workshop IRL i think there are some on the Gijon part that is in game
      • The rest area near the service, in real life is the test track for the practical test(Track test) for the driver licenses (Truck, Bus, Trailers and Motorcycles).(Blue circle in maps capture)
The track exams consist in do well diferent manoeuvres some of them with time limit and with trailer atached.
In my opinion this rest area should be in the big parking on the transport center(Green circle on maps capture) you already modeled the big parking in game(next to the APP depot), and in real life truckers use it as rest area, also this big logistic center has truck scale IRL(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.7059896) and as you can see on the satellite images the lanes has directions marked that currently in game are not well represented. This area also have Scales were in game is the car parking left to the entrance.
      • Finally as a curiosity the orange circle marks the place were all the vehicles must past their technical inspection (ITV) to be allowed to run on the roads.
    • Sailship position, (in game:-70018.3;39.2047;28548.1;-2.37031;-0.235902)
[ external image ], This Ship is placed in an area where IRL there are not dock, this area is a rocky area with low deep that protect the shipyard from the waves, ships can't navegate in this area because they will strand. there is a small dredge canal for the ships to enter the ship yard, and also Ships that big only dock in the bigger port of Gijon "EL Musel", so I suggest eliminate that ship, smaller yatch or sailboats can be seen in the area but a bit farer from the rocks.Real life location

  • A compilation of train related mistakes in Gijon:
    • In Game -70837.1;57.9644;29355.5;-0.904681;-0.256669 (https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6985709)
      [ external image ]
This is Calzada station, is the way for passenger trains to the end of the line in the Gijon main station.
The line should be electrified with the standard spanish catenary pole for standard lines, this seccion of track is used for all the Renfe passenger trains that enter/exit Gijon (Commuter/Long distance), the arrows show the direction of travel.
The tracks inside the pink circle are dead end tracks currently used to store the long distance trains(AVE, ALVIA and AVLO) on the night and on past times was used sporadically to load trains with wood (logs).
    • In game -69948.7;45.6488;29256.1;-1.70526;-0.152947 (https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6890112)
      [ external image ]
This is the main line between La Calzada station and Gijon main station, is used only by Renfe passenger trains (Commuter/Long distance), currently in game the catenary poles are wrong placed on the middle of the tracks(tramway style poles) in the real life on this place the catenary poles are on the sides and are the standard line spanish catenary poles, the arrows show the direction of travel.
    • In game -70610.1;46.8004;28980;0.339409;-0.152928 (https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6964543)
      [ external image ]
This is the main line entering the Port of Gijon-El Musel in real life after cross the bridge the track not electrified disapear, and remains only the electrified one till arrive to the port station, is electrified with the standard line spanish catenary poles, this tracks are only used by freight trains enter/exit Gijon.
    • In Game -69550.7;76.2111;29692.1;-0.708966;-0.360347(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.6821399)
      [ external image ]
This is the enter/exit Gijon of the narrow gauge railway FEVE, the lines are also electrified with the standard spanish catenary poles.
You didn't include any spanish narrow gauge train model in game soo the best is to not put trains on this tracks.
  • Big industries missing from Gijon.
    • Arcelor, probably the biggest miss in Gijon, is the biggest integral steel mill in Spain, and was once one of the biggest in Europe if you count that the integral factory is composed of two steelmills that work as one, The Gijon plant and the Aviles plant that are conected by a private railway that transport the molten steel in torpedo wagons between the two plants.
Gijon plant is like a small city the plant has 2 big blast furnaces, one coke owen to produce the coke coal needed for the furnaces, a big steelmill that is currently being upgraded with a new electric furnace, and the production facilities of long products(Rails, wire rod, steel rod, steel profiles...) are also on Gijon.
Aviles plant have the Oxygen converters(Oxygen furnace) were they eliminate the impurities of the molten steel(the molten metal travel between factories on their private raywail) a steelmill and the production facilities for flat products(Steel coils, steel sheets...)

Arcelor is the biggest industry on Gijon on people working there and also on their footprint(space that ocupies) that why their absence in game is a big miss, you already modeled other big steelmills in game like the one on Duisburg and the one in Linz and while the depots are small their surroundings in game make you feel like you are in a big industry because you have to travel a bit inside the industry to arrive to the facility.
To include Arcelor in game you can model the new road that IRL conect Gijon AS-19 to Arcelor and the future industrial park ZALIA.
AS-19 new part needed, Road conecting AS-19 with Arcelor south entrance, route inside the factory from north entrance, route inside the factory from south entrance, all routes conect and form a big loop but google maps don't let me show the loop in one link here is the loop more or less, as you can see the route include the two main entrances to arcelor, the one on the south is just near DACERO Gijon(ACC in game), and the one on the north is Veriña is where the trucks transporting bulk(Ores, coal...) enter because is closer to the dump site and because they have scales on that entrance.
The part of AS-19 of that need to be included can also have the Veriña Repsol(Miralsol in game) service Station where many truckers fill up, also that section have a very industrial flavour to it because IRL the shoulders of the road are covered with redish tint because of the iron ore dust.
The part of road inside of the factory will help giving players the feeling that they are in a big letting them reach the long products loading facilities(where the depot should be)
The south exit is near Dacero(ACC) production facility i will probably keep it since they manufacturer other things IRL, like big steel structures, windmill towers, boiler parts, steel parts for the industry... maybe changing the prefab for another more fiting would be needed.

With the inclusion of this new road parts of the old road could be eliminated if needed to have more space and that could also help to solve the mistakes make near the Iveco dealer where the street layout is wrong.
In summary the inclusion of Arcelor will improve Gijon a lot.
    • The new regasifier plant were they convert the LNG that the ships unload back to normal natural gas for their use, is a big facility that can be done extending the port road towards the sea.
Here is the example of the road thats needed to have it, Near the port control tower there is a port check point because the road is no longer a public road from that point up to the plant.
    • Gijon port bulk ores terminal, Gijon port is one of the biggest in spain on bulk comodities(Coal, ores) now mainly because Arcelor uses it to recive their ores and coal in the past Asturias was a big exporter of coal and other ores.
It can be included in game if you extend the current road on the port north towards the sea.
Here is the example of the road thats needed to have it, Near the port control tower there is a port check point because the road is no longer a public road from that point up to the docks.(Same road as the regasifier)
It recieves mainly coal, Iron ore, and other ores that arcelor needs for their production, the port also have another bulk facilities to load unload cement products(or the ores needed to make it), and grain terminals, but are a bit spaced around the port and probably the most interesting visually is the ore terminal because of the redish and black colours because of the dust.
  • More options to add new small industries to Gijon without needing to add new roads, because their locations and roads are already modeled in game.
    • Litoral:Well known and important Spanish food manufacturer(canned food) owned by Nestle, their location was marked in the photo of the intersection Avenue de los Campones with Camino Melón. (In game position:-69836.7;73.1675;29578.2;0.720321;-0.451545 )[ external image ]
Real life location, probably is better to have more heavy industries that are more representative of Gijon IRL.
    • Gijon IRL Marina location marked in this photo[ external image ] (in game location:-70452.2;45.3492;28360.5;-2.42026;-0.381535) Real life location
Redbars marks another the control of access to other port facilities like the Grain storage or the old ferry dock (GIjon-Nantes) and IRL there is also entrance to the container port here too, the marina entrance is a parallel road without checkpoints
    • Nippon Gases, manufacturer of professional gasses(Not used as fuel), used in some industries like for example metallurgic industry for welding, semiconductor industries for lasers, medical industrie for patient care...(in game position:-70366;76.1271;30771.6;-1.95949;-0.620518)
      [ external image ]
      Real life location
    • More logistics companies in the transports center where APP is located, which is where IRL most logistics companies are located in Gijón(in game location:-70841.3;201.188;29498.9;-2.44904;-0.883669) is the transport center of Gijon, is also a good place to have a rest area because in real life is the rest area where many truckers sleep in Gijon because is protected and many local drivers park their trucks until the next day for the same reason, green circle marks rest area parking, it also has a scale placed in the yellow circle.
      [ external image ]
      Real life location
Probably if you opted for this option the best bet is to put for example a Transportes Caballeria in the place XPO is so you will have 2 logistic companies one in front of the other, using the space better because the other are placed in game on the outside of the transport center.
  • Other mistakes in Asturias (near Gijon area):
    • The intersection of the A-66 with the A-8 near Gijon ("Y Serin" as people called in real life) is wrongly done.
      In game -71493.4;374.039;31302.7;-0.576487;-0.637385(https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -5.7848203)
      [ external image ]
      [ external image ]
      [ external image ]
Leon-Gijon, Gijon-Leon, Gijon-A Coruña, A Coruña-Leon should be direct link with a two lanes road.
A Coruña-Gijon should pass under Gijon-Leon, with a two lanes road.
Leon-A Coruña should pass under Gijon Leon and under A Coruña-Gijon, with a two lanes road.
    • Viaduct of Llovones area is misplaced in game (A-8) (In game:-65912.7;60.0812;31228.6;1.06397;-0.259612)
      [ external image ]
The whole area of the viaduct of Llovones is well done and is a bit recognizable, but is completly wrongly place, because in game is placed east the Mirasol service station(Colunga Service area IRL) and IRL should be west the service station.
      [ external image ]
So I suggest to rework the area to make it right i've already done a bug report about this, but if you reworked the area I suggest you to change it for the a more scenic area of the A8, the area around area around San Antolin Beach, this area also have a big truck service station nearby and is much more scenic with a high viaduct, the San Antolin beach, cliffs, the ruins of an old Monastery and church almost under the viaduct, train tracks almost runing through the middle of the beach, and a nearby beach called "Gulpiyuri beach" that is in the middle of a field conected to the sea by a cave, and that looks like a lake when the high tide come.
There are lots of things that could made the area interesting to fit a viewpoint because all of this scenics things,( I real life there is a viewpoint on top of the beach on the old AS-379 road.)
This addition can facilitate also the of a small logging depot where Eucalyptus trees are harvested to be sold to the Paper Mill in Navia, IRL in this area there are a lot of Eucalyptus plantations to sold the wood to the Navia Paper Mill, they choose Eucalyptus because it grows fast, Eucalyptus is not originaly from here and have several problems like it desertify the earth but in Asturias that rains a lot that problem is not that important for the producers, that plant it because it grows fast and is more profitable than local species and see for example this areain this area there is a big plantation of Eucalyptus, you can see it from the A-8 and see how they harvest it (in 2012) and replanted again.
So this could also be a good area for the logging depot to collect logs to carry to Navia Paper Mill.
Also a small Cow/Milk farm could be nice to have in the area there are some in the area on AS-379, and can compliment other farms that could be placed near Navia.

So the solution i propose is to change the current modeled area between the east exit of Gijon tunel and the frontier Asturias-Cantabria with this two sections, that are more pintoresque and representatives of the region:
First sectionThis section could start on the east exit of the Gijon tunel, section passes a hill between Naves and Nueva the Llanes, on the area there is a long beach called San Antolin that you can see very well from the highway is a very nice view, also near San Antolin is the beach of Gulpiyuri which is a beach in the middle of a field, the sea access the beach from a tunnel on the rocks, there are a lot of cliffs near the beach and a parking spot with a view point also on AS-379 near San Antolin there are the ruins of and old monastery and church (San Antolin de Bedon), on the end of the section there is a service station that conect with the AS-379 via road LLN-11, if AS-379 is done a small milk farm and small logging depot can be added plantations of eucalyptus trees are common on the area for logging.

Second section this section contains the real border between Asturias and Cantabria, the restaurant on the Unquera highway exit is a supper common stop for long distand buses and charter buses, is very famous because of a type pastrie that only made here in Unquera, is called Corbata, is like a tradition for everyone in Asturias to stop there to buy a box of those pastries if you pass by Unquera, so if this section is added the restaurant need to be at least a rest stop.
the section end were a viaduct starts and can be linked with one currently modeled viaduct in Cantabria.

This to sections will improve the realism of the area a lot with much better landscapes and easing the transition between the regions with the real border in place.
  • Other suggestions for things in Asturias:
    • Navia, there are a possibility for a future new company from Navia is home of a multinational dairy products brand Reny Picot(Position of Industrias lacteas Asturianas), they manufacturer milk related products and have a big factory, they could be an option for new industries in Navia.
Milk products are very tipical from Asturias(And all the cantabric coast) being the asturian dairy brands on the top 5 of biggests spanish dairy brands by revenue,(Reny Picot is the fourth overall by revenue, and the other one is Central Lechera Asturiana being first or second depending of the year, but you didn't have modeled in game where Central Lechera is located so probably adding Reny Picot in Navia is a better option.)

You can include Reny Picot adding the road NV-5 from the AS-25 you already have in game,(this route)( is the road that go to SCS Papper only need to be prolonged a bit, because other more direct routes probably will cause more problems and trucks also use NV-5 to go to Reny Picot in real life.)

If the Dairy industry is included and thinking on the posible Rigid trucks game play with multidrop near Navia there is an incompleted road that with low effort can be completed, the road is now like that.
Here is on Navia exit, marked in red N-634.
      [ external image ]
Here is Novellana exit marked in orange N-632a
      [ external image ]
      [ external image ]
As you can see the road only miss a bit of imaginary road that conect both from Santa Marina to Canero something like that
      [ external image ]
One cow/milk farm can be placed on Canero, and Another one in Santa Marina, i drawed the loations on the picture, you can also include another one in Novellana like this one.
The inclusion of the farms and dairy industry will benefict rigids a lot in real life there are a lot of small farms that produce milk for the big dairy industries, having the road and 2 or 3 smaller farms will allow players to make the morning trips that go collecting the milk produced for the smaller farms to carry it to the big industry, IRL on this area mainly rigid trucks are used to pick up the milk from the farms and one truck pick up the milk of several farms on the same trip.
This also will include a big industry on that part of Spain and will add to the game the flavour of the rural north of Spain.

Also in Navia, there are a possibility for a future other new company, because in real life in Navia there are a Shipyard from the same company as the one in Gijon and the one in Vigo https://www.astillerosarmon.com/es/empr ... n-s-a.html
So if in the future you want to add a new company to Navia consider this. (https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2 ... -6.7230592).
If you plan to add the Navia bus station when coaches arrive the ship yard is a bit north of that, maybe then is a good time to added and change the Special transport route Gijon-Navia to be from Gijon ship yard to Navia Shipyard. This route is needed to access the ship yard

In real life the train line that pass through Navia is a narrow gauge one, and you didn't model any narrow gauge train in game, so probably is better to not having trains passing through the Navia in game tracks.
    • Aviles you have the exit 399 Aviles Zona Portuaria in game so you can model towards the sea to include a remote depot of Gijon here in Aviles wich is also big on Industry.

The ACC in Gijon is placed where Dacero Gijon is placed in real life just on the entrance of the Arcelor Mittal Steel factory is located (Is a big Steel mill one of the largest of the EU and has two big blast furnaces, and they are finishing the construcction of a big electric furnace ), the Gijon plant and the Aviles plant work together as a one(Tecnically are part of the same productive process), They have a private railway that link the two facilities and both work in conguction (atleast in the past they were the largest integral steelmill of the EU), in Gijon there are the 2 blast furnaces(In the future also a electric owen on the steel mill), the Coke coal batteries, and they product the long products(rails, steel rods, wire rod, profiles...)
In Aviles they have the Oxigen converters to eliminate the impurities of the steel while it was liquid(they transport the liquid steel on trains between factories on torpedo wagons) and also in Aviles they produce the flat products(Coils, sheets...)

You already have the Aviles exit modeled (399 Aviles Zona Porturia) so you can add the Aviles plant where they manufacture the flat products (Coils and sheets) as a remote depot of Gijon.

There are also other big industries in Aviles that can be reach from the same exit but they are in the port area a bit more far of the actual in game modeled.(towards the sea in game)

A big Zink manufacturer(Asturiana the Zink)
      A big Aluminium Manufacturer(Endasa)
A big Glass manufacturer(Saint Gobain - they made car glass)
A big manufacturer towers for aerogenerators, they have also a loading dock on the port for that (Windar)

I think this is all, I know i'm too late but maybe this will help in the future if you need to improve some places in Iberia.

Greetings from Spain and keep it improving the game, If you need help i will be here

    Pd:Sorry for my bad English

Draco de Gran Canaria (tree)

#412 Post by Esproquet » 09 Sep 2021 17:33

If you're thinking of adding the Canary Islands to the DLC, you should definitely take into account this tree, it's the vegetal symbol of the islands (along withg the blue chaffinch as the animal one). It's one of the thickest trees out there, as well as one of the oldest.

The largest dairy farm in Europe (U.E).

#414 Post by plinio.lisboa.br » 25 Sep 2021 16:17

Granja Valle de Odieta - Caparroso. Navarre. Spain: The largest dairy farm in Europe (U.E).

The farm has 500,000 m² (square meters of buildings and stables). It has a dairy herd of: 4,700 dairy cows in milking activity. The herd on the farm is 5,200 adult animals and 2,800 calves (young animals), totaling 8,600 cattle. The dairy herd on the Spanish farm produces 160,000 liters a day. The dairy farm belongs to the cooperative "Valle de Odieta" and is located in Caparroso, in the region of Navarra. The farm currently generates 80 direct jobs created, and expects to create another 30 jobs in the next phase of development of the farm and dairy herd. This would make it possible to generate 200 indirect jobs related to the farm's activities (in 2022).

Granja Valle de Odieta - Noviercas, Castile and Leon. Spain: The future, perhaps, largest dairy farm in Europe.

The “Noviercas” project, by the Valle de Odieta cooperative, if not implemented. The new dairy farm "Granja Valle de Odieta - Noviercas", in all its implementation phases, should have 23,000 more dairy cows. Noviercas would thus have the largest dairy farm in Europe, surpassing the current one in Camparosso. The dairy project in Noviercas is expected to have between 18,000 and 23,000 dairy cows in its 900 hectares in the territory of the municipality of Noviercas, and to have facilities and buildings on 25% (154 hectares) of its fertile land.

A Noviercas macro farm would be the largest in Europe and would be among the five largest in the world. The dairy herd would be exactly 23,520 cows (16,128 dairy cows in productive lactation, and 7,329 destined for breeding and replacement) with a daily consumption of 600 tons of feed. Every year a minimum of 180 million liters of milk would be produced on the dairy farm.

Between 200 and 250 direct jobs would be created in small Noviercas, with its 155 inhabitants, and in rapid demographic decline.

To scale the grandeur of the two dairy farms in Spain: In the European Union, the average herd in dairy farms in 2011 ranged from 13 cows in Bulgaria to 142 in Denmark; in Spain, the average size of a dairy farm is 41 cows. In the United States, in 2012, the average herd size on dairy farms ranged from 1,661, with some states such as Kansas reaching 4,539 cows per farm.

Activities:
The calves are grouped into groups of 8 animals, for a maximum period of between 6 or 7 months, according to the technical planning of the farm's herd. Later, more developed after 6 or 7 months, they are transferred by truck to Ciaurriz, where the agricultural company's original farm is located in Vale de Odieta, where they are raised until 17 or 18 months, where the females return, pregnant, for the first cycle dairy farmer in Caparroso, where they remain during their most productive life. Most likely after the golden stage of lactation, the best performing cows will be sold to other dairy farmers, perhaps direct sales, perhaps at cattle auctions. Male calves are probably marketed to cattle breeders or even meatpackers.

The dairy cows at the Granja in Caparroso are milked twice a day. The milking room is very technological and its operating system is rotating, it has a capacity for 80 animals that remain in it for 8 minutes.

Development phases:
The farm plans to build its second milking center and have it operational soon. If the licenses are allowed, 6 new stables will be built which would be ready by the end of 2022. This expansion will allow to have a herd of 7,200 adult cows, of which 6,500 will be milking cows, which will be distributed 50% among the current nucleus of milking and the new. And it would require purchasing a lot of new equipment, especially a new milking carousel.

Silage:
The fodder on which the dairy cows feed is grown in the ganja's own fields. Up to six months, the animals on the farm consume feed and water. Subsequently, most of the herd's feed (calves and cows) is based on forage, developed in the silage compost system. The forage fields are fertilized fertilized with manure from the herd and the fertile manure.

Biogas:
The residues are used in the biogas plant of the "HTN Biogas" farm (Localization: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2806416 ... a=!3m1!1e3) where the methane is extracted.
In tanks the solid fraction of the slurry is recycled, to produce the rest beds for the herd. Another part is used to obtain methane in a controlled manner and to avoid its emission, contributing to the environmental avoidance of pollutants in the atmosphere and still becomes fuel for the generation of renewable energy. The ""HTN Biogas" plant produces electricity for around 12,000 homes in the Odieta Valley region.

Hello, since yesterday there are new stickers for trucks, buses and vans warning about dead angles.
Right now they are not mandatory but they recommend trucks to use them.
Here are the new norms about the stickers, with the position and size of the stickers for each vehicle.

Hello I don't now if someone mentioned this before but Spain maximum allowed weighs are gonna increase on 23/10/2025
You can see here a chart with the new wheighs in the Anexo IX

A sumary of the new wheights, (Total Max wheight while comply with the max axle wheights):
  • Rigids:
    • 2 axle: 18t
    • 2 axle Coach: 19.5t
    • 3 axle: 26t if the traction axle has neumatic suspension and twin wheels without it 25t is the max
    • 4 axle: with 2 steer axles and neumatic suspension and twinwheels on the traction axle 32t, if not comply 31t
  • Road trains(Rigid+trailer)
    • 2 axle motor vehicle+2axle trailer: 36t
    • 2 axle motor vehicle+3axle trailer: 42t
    • 3 axle motor vehicle+2 o 3 axle trailer: 44t
  • Articulated vehicles (Tractor+Semitrailer)
    • 2 axle tractor+2axle semitrailer: 38t if tractor is equiped with neumatic suspensions twin wheels and trailer axle are spaced 1.8m or more, other wise is 36t
    • 2 axle tractor+3axle semitrailer or 3axle tractor+2axle semitrailer: 44t
  • Euromodular combinations(32m) (Duotrailers, Bitrain...)
    • 72t
  • also there are exceptions that allow more:
    • If vehicle uses alternative fuels(GNC, GLP...) is allowed 1t more
    • If vehicle is cero emisions(Electric, Fuel cell...) is allowed 2t more
    • If articulated vehicle(semitrailer) is transporting intermodal containers is allowed 2t more for a max of 46t
    • If transporting logs on a distands less than 150km:
      • 3 axles rigids are allowed: 32t
      • Combinations with 4 axles: 42t
      • Combinations with 5 axles: 52t
      • Combinations with 6 or more axles 57t
Other things that will change is that Euromodular combinations(32m 72t) no longer will need to sumit autorization and are gonna be allowed to run without needing permisions but only on the network of autoriced roads, they still need to comply with the technical requierements: Minimum power 5kw/t (6kw/t if the route have climbs 5% or more for more than 1km), V2 strobe lights on the top front and top back of the combination, fifthwheels that allow for the towed wheight...

Changes in max heigh, 4m will be the max but 4.5m will be allowed for:
    • Crane/Towing/Wrecker trucks.
    • Car haulers.
    • Intermodal or airtransport (ULD) trucks.
    • Articulated trucks equiped with variable heigh roof transporting: Live stock, forrage or straw.
    • Trucks doing routes of less than 50km providing goods for industries.
Greetings and keep the good work improving the game.

River basins new boards

#417 Post by Esproquet » 27 Aug 2025 23:35

I haven't taken my car often over the last 3 years, but this year I made two long trips and I noticed a new signal in the autovías (highways), it's the river basin border.

This is the new board design:

This is an X post where you can see how they actually look (DEMARCACIÓN HIDROGRÁFICA DEL [river name])

This is a traffic news outlet that describes the new signal:

Last week I went from Murcia to Madrid and I saw all river basin denominations in the autovías from A-30, A-31, A-3 (Segura - Júcar - Guadiana - Tajo), I've also seen them between Murcia and Alicante (A-7).

Re: Spain pre-research tips

#418 Post by Trenero » 09 Dec 2025 01:54

Hello thinking about project Coaches and seeing that some cities already have bus stations and others are going to have them because they are already placed in game i decided to a list of the placement and posible bus routes to access the station of some cities on the north.
  • Navia, to include the station you need to prolongate the N-634 already on game a bit to the north towards the sea, this is the route buses take to enter and exit the station,
Navia bus station is small with space for 4 buses parked in diagonal. Given that Navia will need some work to have the Bus station in game maybe is a great time to include some upgrades i've talk about on this post, the posible upgrades are the inclusion of the ship yard that is a bit north of the bus station, or the inclusion of a big dairy factory that is south of the paper mill, and with the dairy industry the finish of the incomplete national road between Navia and Novellana A-8 with a few milk farms on the way, that could benefit the gameplay of the future rigid DLC by including a milk pickup route with few stops from the factory to the farms(2-3 stops on the route) and back to de factory, is explained on this post.
  • Gijon, the bus station in Gijon is in the middle of the city on the place of the old Alsa bus station, the old station building was demolish because of a partial collapse of the structure and now only part the old main facade remains in place, but they placed a provisional metal building inside on the corner the old facade is, the building is covered by the old facade so from one front corner it looks like the old bus station is still on, but from back and the inside you can see that is a new metal building that supports the old facade and also contains the offices, services and ticket office.
The bus station is made with 7 paralel lanes with bus shelters that fit 2-3 buses each, so the buses stop in diferent lanes depending on the service and are order on the lanes by the departure time, so the first departing is the first positioned on the lane.

In the case of Gijon a lot of the city center will need to be added.
For buses coming from or going to A Coruña(and Leon) direction the buses take this route that is not currently in game.
Buses coming from or going to Santander direction take this other route to enter the city, on this routes some buses also enter by Carlos Marx street instead of the final part of Avenida de la constitucion up to plaza Europa, this second option could probably by less work because you will need to model less streets.

Gijon also have currently a few mistakes that can be solved at the same time of the inclusion of the bus routes, i've talked about the mistakes on this post, there are a few mistakes with some of the streets and also the oportunity can be used to include some of the bigger industries that are currently missing and are part of the identity of Gijon like Arcelor, or the bulk terminal of the port, that can be included with the addition of the new direct routes that link Gijon with Arcelor or the extension of the port road, all the mistakes and options for improvement with new roads and industries are explanied this post
  • Santander, the bus station is subterrain, the access ramps to the station are both on the same side of the station and then the parking places(15 diagonal spots on each side) are in an "Island"(with a staircase and elevators on the middle for the people) that buses go around(like aroundabout) when enter or when exit depending on the parking spot to reach the exit ramp.
The route buses take to enter and exit the city is not complete in game and you will need to add this route to the city
  • Leon, the bus station is close to the city center east of the part modeled, Leon current east part(where the renault dealer is) in game is wrongly done because in game is listed as N-120 and on the same road as Cesta in game, IRL the part modeld east of A66 is on a different road and on a diferent highway exit.
To include the bus station N-120 could be a good idea that way only the east part of Leon will need to be done and doing it that way you can correct the current wrong side of Leon, changing the industries for ones actually on the N-120 like for example changing the Renault dealer for a Volvo or a Man one because those are on N-120 and would be realistic past by them on the way to the bus station, and there are also a few industries on the route to the bus station.
This is the route you can use to go to the bus station.

In real life buses use LE-30 from A-66 because is faster but doing it that way will need to redo the interchage and also the access road to the west part of Leon making AP-71 the access road instead of N-120 like now, you can also have options for industries if you op for LE-30 but there are not truck dealers on the way so maybe doing the N-120 is a better compromise.

Also Leon could benefit from a remote depot in Benavente (Where A-6, A-66 and A-52 meet), game currently have modeled the exit 259 "Benavente Sur", and you can place there a sorting facility of one parcel transport company(APP, Transportes Caballeria...), IRL Benavente is well know because almost all of the parcel companies that operate on Spain have their sorting facilities for the north there to separe the parcels that go to south Galicia, north Galicia, or North(Asturias-Leon), or mix all the parcels coming from the north to continue the trip to the south together on the same truck.
You can put the the OnTime sorting center and the Repsol(Mirasol) service station, only by adding this small bit of route this will improve realism a lot for the parcel industry having a sorting facility there.

To end my post and seeing that Gijon and Leon would need work/rework to fit the bus stations i would like to suggest a change for the future on the current route Gijon-Leon, while the current route have a very beautiful part of the route modeled in game and is almost 1:1 to reality (Kudos to the mapper that worked there), i feel that this current section underepresents the dificulty, stepness and beauty of the real route.
After Austria and Swiss reworks and West Balkans SCS improved a lot is work on mountain pases, so maybe with the Leon and Gijon rework to fit the buses could be a great oportunity to planteate also this rework.

The AP-66 between Asturias and Leon(some info here about its history) is clasified as a high mountain highway (Autopista de alta montaña in spanish) and if memory doesn't fail me is the only one in Spain with that clasification. the Asturias side is the hardest one that climbs in 22km from 354m (measured from sea level) at the start in Campomanes to 1229m on Negron tunnel north entrance(frontier Asturias-Leon is on the middle of the tunnel and the tunnel is flat)(Here is the altimetry of the Asturias side)
I want to propose a series of sections that linked together have the feeling of traveling the wole AP-66 mountain section, the start of this should be on the finish of the current A-66/A-8 interchange in Gijon, and i don't know exactly how mappers work but some sections maybe need to be compresed a bit instead of 1:1,be 1:2 or 1:4 while conserving same flavour as the real section.

First sectionThis sections starts in Campomanes is the start point of the toll road, and where you can take the alternative no toll road "Puerto Pajares", the section starts about 3% average gradient the middle section on the viaduct is aroun 6,3% average, and once finished the viaduct it eases back to 3% up to the emergency runway ramp.

Second section This section starts on a straight that can be linked to the end of the previous section, the section contains the famous sign(Precaucion autopista de alta montaña) marking the road as a High-mountain highway on this section before the tunel there is also a rest spots to let the truck cold down if your climbing or to let the brakes cold down if you go down.
Also right now on this sections there is a big landside that blocks the down lanes, so provisionally the down lane is reruted on the climb lane, and the climb lanes are only 2 on that part, to give the third lane to the down lane.(They are currently working on clear the landside so have it in game could be optional)
Section end in Entreguerras tunnel and the average gradient is more than 5%, with the largest average km just before the tunel at 6,3%

Third section this section is from the exit of Vegaviesga tunnel to the north entrance of El Negron tunnel, this section changes valley and while on the 1 and 2 sections the valley is on your right while climbing on this section the valley is diferent valley an is on the left while climbing.
On this section there is a picturesque rest area on the down side, and the access to the mateniance facilities of the highway, usually the base of the snowplows that clear the Asturias side.
Here is also where the sign welcoming you to Asturias is placed.
And where the climb end on the entrance of the tunnel, with an average of 5% on this section.

Fourd sectionThis section is from the south exit of the El Negron tunnel to the next tunel, the section is where the sign that welcomes you to Castilla y Leon is placed, there is also a service station going Leon direction and only a rest area going Gijon direction, the section is downhill if you go to Leon, also this section is probably the one that can be compresed more easely, is funny because here is usually were weather changes on the Asturias side is usually foggy and rainy when you enter the tunel and on Castilla side is usually sunny.
Also from this section you can start see the Luna reservoir (Currently in game)

Fifth sectionThis is gonna be the last section and is gonna link on the south with the tunnel thats is currently in game where the toll both of the AP-66 are in game.
Is one of the most memorable parts of the route because of the suspension bridge(When built it has the record of longest clearance for its type) that you crosses here, also landscape is very beauty a narrow part of the valley were you can see mountains, the Luna reservoir and from the bridge going to Leon you can see on your right the top of an old church now under the reservoir.
The section is downhill going to Leon.

If this sections can be adapted to the game the AP-66 driving experience will improve a lot making it more realistic and challenging especially going downhill to Asturias.

Also with this new sections in game the first section could open the door to have the alternative no toll road to the AP-66 the N-630(Puerto Pajares/Pajares mountain pass) like the AP-66 here are some representative sections that if Pajares someday made it to the game could be used to have a realistic experience, also some of the ADR transports need to go on N-630 because they are not allowed on AP-66 tunnels, and same for special transports higher than 4,5m

1º Section is from A-66 to the N-630, the section starts on the highway and ends on the curve after the mountain pass checkpoint(Is where the sign that indicates the status of the mountain pass is, and where police stop drivers stop them if is closed or ask for chains or winter tires if is snowing)

2º Section This section is were the uphill starts after you pass under a railway viaduct the road start go uphill on hugging the road the side of the mountain on the exit of Puente los Fierros town, maximun ramps in this sections are aroun 13%, the section ends on a hairpin curve that can be linked with the next section.

3º SectionThis sections passes the town of Pajares, the town that gives name to the climb, the gradient eases a bit here, the section ends in a curve that can be linked to the next section.

4º Section This is the hardest part of the climb with ramps that signs say are 17% but reality tells that in some parts are a bit more, on this section there is an emergency runaway ramp, a rest stop for the ones going uphill, on that rest stop they made a monument to the person that drove the crane truck based on Pajares that used to tow the trucks that broke down on that hill, the section ends on the top of the hill that is the border between Asturias and Castilla Leon, there also a big hotel on the top that now is only open as a cafe.

5º SectionThis section is long and can be compresed a lot by eliminating some curves and shorten some straights, the important parts on this section are the intersection that go to the Pajares Sky station, the town Arbas the Puerto(the town is a few houses a church and a restaurant) with its very beauty church near the road called "Colegiata de Santa Maria".
The town of Busdongo is important because it have a big train station where freight trains are linked back together because to climb the mountain pass the freight trains transporting steel coils have to be slipted in two lighter and smaller sections and once they arrive Busdongo they are linked back together, is also a stoping point because of two restaurants that are there.
On the enter and exit of Busdongo you can see several fake tunnels to shelter the tracks from snow avalanches on winter. that cold be also an interesting part.
From Busdongo to the tunnel the route could be compresed a lot there are not many reference or interesting points.
This section could also be used to have more space in Leon because it moves west to east so it space the road N-630 from the AP66 giving more space on Leon, an if is not much compresed could help to ease the gradient on the Leon side that is not as step as the Gijon side.

6º SectionThis section can be linked with the other exit of the previous section tunnel, the section can be compresed a lot, it pases the town of La Robla, is the biggest Town this route crosses, a service station can be added here and also the town has a big cement factory that can be included in game as a remote depot of Leon.
The section ends in a small climb in the middle of a pine forest that can be use to link with the next section on the straight.

7º section This will be the last section this would round the city of Leon conecting N-630 with N-120(The bus route that need to be added) can be compresed a lot

I don't know if this is a good alternative route for the current AP-66 but after seing the work in Austria and Switzerland i have faith in SCS that can do a great job representing mountain passes and this two (AP66+N-630) are one of the most emblematic passes in Spain, and will help improving the north area a lot and enriching the DLC by including something that currently is missing, Spain lacks mountain passes in game, and this 2 could be great to have they will mark more the diferences in landscapes between north and south of Spain.

Also forgot to mention that the route Gijon-Santander have a mistake one of the areas modeled (Viaducto de Llovones) is misplaced in game, i think changing the area modeled between Gijon Tunnel to the Asturias-Cantabria border could solve the problem and improve a lot the landscape adding new posibilities, i made a post about the mistake here, is also reported as a bug here

Greetings and keep the good work improving the game.

PD:Sorry for my bad english, there are probably many mistakes.
