Turkey pre-research tips (European part)

Hello everybody!

As we're doing some pre-research for ETS2, we'd like to know your opinion on some of the things which we shouldn't miss in the game in our future planned DLCs - in this case for the TURKEY state. To be clear - its European part now.

Unfortunately it can be very easy to miss some key spots when planning a future road network. We can judge only from what we read or see, while those who live there, have driven there or visited there, can point us towards some famous truck stops, interesting landmark, points of interest etc.

So we'd appreciate any tips which could be helpful for us and that could easily work with in-game mechanics. Try to keep in mind that we're interested in places connected with trucks and roads. So if you have some tips, we'd be grateful. Don't be shy to add photos / videos of said locations (in better quality, so our graphics can use them as pattern).

Please be aware, that states listed here mean absolutely no promise of what's the next DLC or what states will come first. Also we can't guarantee that we'll use the research you give us - it depends on many aspects (which can't be all written here).

My entire life is been around that 28000 km2 of Turkey Europe region. I'm born in Edirne and lived half of my life there near borders, other half in Istanbul, my entire journey was around that area, also my works, even vacations were there in Greece / Bulgaria / Turkey triangle, so I can literally find my way in dark. I dealt with all industries around the area too. So I would really help on those areas if I am asked to if / when time comes for there...

Anyway, I'm really happy for Balkan area. Almost entire region Exception of Southern Greece, pretty much very same geographic, climate and cultural features. Southern Greece is more in line with mediterrenan climate we have in South Italy.

So back for little information: Turkey has 4 cities in that region:
Edirne (400k population), Tekirdag (910k population -- but majority of population is in Çorlu district), Kirklareli (350k population) and Istanbul (Europe section is 9,5 million population)... Entire region is pretty much flat, hardly any mountainy areas, only north geographic borders between Bulgaria), majorly agricultural on all regions (all diary products and sunflower oil in Edirne, and rice on Uzunkopru region of Edirne) but in Çorlu region (of Tekirdag) , textile and industry kicks in till Istanbul... From Edirne to Istanbul, it is around ~300 km's , From Edirne to Sofia (Bulgaria) is around ~200 km's.

And 3 borders similiar to Russian borders to Bulgaria, 2 borders to Greece: Major one is Kapikule for Bulgaria (around 30 km's to Edirne) and Ipsala for Greece ... Pazarkule is only for smallv ehicles, no commercial trade border. Rest of them used by trucks, depending on Destination.

Turkish Plate Format is:

<City Number> <District naming> <count number>

- District naming is completely random and there is no rules, except, only English alphabet and except letter "O", not to confuse with zero.
- City number is from 01 to 81 ... For European side, Istanbul is 34, Edirne: 22, Çanakkale 17, Tekirdag 59, Kirklareli is 39

99 A 9999 : Least common
99 AA 999 : Most common
99 AAA 99 : Usually crowded cities

- District naming is also letter "T" (TX, TXX, TXXX) for taxis

- Single "A" District naming letter only is used for Police and police plates are blue background with white font.

- 11x52 standart plates are having blue TR line

- Like many other rules, Turkey's traffic rules are EU standards, even though it does not feel like it

Not sure if this is important but...

All trucks must be on weight scaled on E80 exit for both Edirne & Istanbul, right after exiting toll booths, directed via police (on Istanbul exit) or gendarmes (on Edirne exit).

Here there are two types of security organizations. Police is in urban areas and genderma (army) on non-urban areas.

Istanbul have 3 bridges. But trucks and buses can across only from yavuz sultan selim bridge. If you add anatolian part of Istanbul city don't forget this.

Turkey is mostly muslim(%98) and there are many mosques. Famous mosques in Istanbul like Sultan Ahmet Mosque and Suleymaniye mosque. Edirne's famous mosque is Selimiye mosque. Don't forget to do mosques.
