I'm wellllll seasoned here and I'm all over the place on the ATS side of the forum. Per the title, notice it also says rework suggestions. I DO NOT SUGGEST I-215 (anymore) due to the space it occupies. You have an opinion, I have an opinion. SCS better off bring valid industry to Vegas. I also stated it may or may not fit. Depends on SCS how they rework it.
Not meant that way at all. More to show I know what thread I am in as I can sometimes be all over the place. :)

I did note that everything may not fit, but it would make sense to at least get US 95 fully connected and in the right place. For that, Vegas is in the wrong location as US 95 would be in Arizona, which is not accurate. So I maintain my guess that southern Nevada is about to get a full rebuild, least of which is the extension of Interstate 11 through Las Vegas and the addition of US 95. I figure all of Nevada will get rebuilt eventually just like California, and Arizona will get attention as well at some stage.

If both Nevada and Arizona don't get rebuilds, I think SCS would get a ton of backlash for sure. That would be a huge mistake to just stop at California when ETS2 looks like its going in for a lot more. Console health depends on the entire base map imho.

US-95 is definitely a must to get closer to reality. I'm not sure about South of Vegas but West of Vegas a big portion of it is missing. Good thing is that we now have 1:20 scale vs 1:35 that Nevada in theory still has.

Mojave City sits very close to the tri-border with California and Arizona (and is in both Arizona and Nevada from my looking at it, not sure about California). The game map is not in that area whatsoever. It's due east of where US 95 would connect to California, so at most some scenery to represent it could fit there.

Palm Gardens and Searchlight are possible representations along US 95. Not worthy of game economy IMO. Palm Gardens is at the junction of NV 163 so could get more precedence (despite virtually no population by comparison with Searchlioght) as a scenery city along the route. NV 163 goes east to Kingman (via a junction at Laughlin with another road) and meets US 93 just before it at the final interchange before entering the city. Not sure it will be long enough to fit in Golden Valley along the road if even represented. My bet is NV 163 is skipped, but we will see if a junction blocking it is created in the future.

There is nothing else there other than Henderson southeast of Vegas proper, and Primm appears in the game economy already. Boulder City sits along the part of US 93 that splits from I-11. Railroad Pass is at the triangle of interchanges involving US 93 and I-11; NV 173 joins US 93 at the top right interchange with US 95 from I-11 exit 14. If you count Railroad Pass (15A), that's four interchanges, so a very busy area.

Barring any movement in US 80's alignment, the center of the state is pretty standard country road fare. I think much of that might be fine barring any alignments changing. I think Vegas is where all the attention will be next. I would warrant the area from Kingman to somewhere around Tonopah will be the full focus of the next map improvements to get US 93 and Interstate 11 just right going through Vegas. But I am not a psychic. Right now, however, just changing the I-515 shields to I-11 and putting it through Rancho is a good start, but since extension of Rancho to the north is needed to continue I-11 (and then merging with US 95 at another interchange), I suspect the entire thing will wait for a rebuild instead of trying to fix something that may be removed anyway. From there, place your bets on I-215. :)

Why is Primm still included in the game? I can understand that we now have an agriculture inspection station at the NV-CA state line. But why Primm? I'd rather have a really nice drop of the I-15 at the state line driving northbound, with Primm as a scenery town. Trucking-wise Primm is not relevant. Or am I missing something?

Primm could have easily gone scenic but SCS chose otherwise. As long as it doesn't effect Vegas itself, I'm cool..........I guess. 90% of Vegas can pretty much get revamped from scratch. The more from scratch, the easier it probably is to realign things. The patch did its job. It was great. But it might not be worth trying to salvage. If anything, I-15 and I-515. But clearly I-515 goes to I-11 now.

Vegas will be interesting to see how they arrange it. One thing Nevada has is plenty of space to do whatever. But how off alignment is SCS willing to go is the question. My guess, not Reforma style. There's only so much they can do at scale though. They could shift it a bit West but align I-15 better. That could give space for the airport. Its okay if the airport bleed over into Arizona. When driving in the game, it makes no difference.

Honestly, I only see I-15 and I-11 getting us thru Vegas with US-95 and US-93 branching off once outside of Vegas. What seems like a lot of space, gets eaten up quick with assets. No I-215 and they might be able to slide in US-95 South of Vegas and get it connecting I-11 and I-40 if Kingsman shifts North East to allow US-93 to align better. Hopefully Kingsman shift to allow Lake Havasu City to be a new add. Blythe took the place of Ehrenburg thankfully. LHC has better industry than both Quartzsite and Ehrenburg.

Primm still has a mall (Barely), which is now deliverable in the rework, as well as a Gastream location. Though I think both could work better as remote depots to Vegas, but I dont see anything being changed with Primm in the Nevada Rework. Why go to all that work to rework Primm to just to redo it again (Unless to make it work with the moving of Vegas of Course.)

Really the only miss in the new Primm is the lack of use for the Solar Fields....

Back on topic, if I-15 from Primm to LV gets reworked, one thing I think would be nice to add would be the 7 Magic Mountains if it fits, as its a nice little art installation in a sea of desert.

7 Magic Mountains is soooo SCS type stuff. That definitely fits. It takes up so little space and its eye candy. They can't afford to miss this in a desert. If we can get the Cadillac Stone Hinge stuff in Texas, we can get this imo. If its considered a work of Art, SCS would have to do something else though but we know what they are targeting.

My view is that, if we try to fit in all four interchanges (15A might not need to be accessible but the roads would be there from 15B) in the I-11 area where the US highways branch off (and another to reload US 93 before the I-11 ends), that will take some space. That would kill the I-215 unless Vegas fills in part of the empty wasteland that is currently nothing but single lane country driving. I have a feeling the northern I-11 terminus I desire will not happen, and I might actually opt for an I-215 over that if it can be done. It's too bad as the picnic area would be a nice addition to that interchange from NV 157. That said, again, the fact that we have no much space for what is nothing in much of Nevada lends credence to doing whatever we can in the southern part of the state to keep that interesting, and we have I-80 to keep the north occupied.

Vegas is just in a very bad location for a 1:20 scale game. If everyone was okay with roads being totally out of alignment going in and out of Vegas, SCS can definitely shift it. But it drastically effects I-15, US-93, US-95 and I-11. That's a lot to throw off their trajectories. The UI map would look wonky but in game, we wouldn't know any better unless we compared it to Google Maps. That's the dilemma.

Updated information regarding California Route 58.

On February 9, 2024, the Centennial Corridor was inaugurated with a ceremonial bicycle ride. It officially opened to traffic on February 17, 2024.

In the game, we show this road under construction, but it now runs continuous as a completed road so it would be apt to, at a minimum, remove the construction scenes and, ideally, add in the curve that intersects with CA 99. It continues as a freeway up to the Allen Road interchange and eventually singles before reconnecting to the point southwest of Bakersfield (we see an end of road, forced turn).

An image of the junction with CA 99 is attached. Chester Street's exit is also shown on the right.
