Why write to discuss the release date of new DLS? Illinois was built for 1.5 years. At this rate, the completion of the United States will be in 10-15 years. SCS does not want to speed up the construction time of new states. We have Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida ahead of us. How long will it take?

Where are you getting that it took 1.5 years to build Illinois? Missouri released April 3r, 2025. That one went 17 month since Kansas released (1.5 years). Technical issues for Missouri.

The time between when a DLC was announced and when it was released is enough for some people to determine how long it took to develop (it is very much not, as the Texas DLC booklet clearly demonstrates).

Germany and the UK for German Truck Simulator and UK Truck Simulator, respectively, took way less time. It can't be that Illinois is significantly more detailed and accurate (gamified scale permitting) than those maps could ever dream of being. It can't be that GTS and UKTS were mainly built using assets from Euro Truck Simulator 1. How ridiculous!

It must be that SCS has gotten too slow and they're fine with being too slow. That's the only possible explanation!

Also, another idea I picked up on Reddit.

Someone there decided to make a graph depicting the amount of time passes between when a Map DLC is announced, and when it's released. So I thought...why not bring it to the forums! I'm not sure how often I'll update this (as it probably won't take long...since this is on a spreadsheet that automatically updates), but it probably will be monthly minimum, maybe every 2-3 months.

I may add this to the main page later on, but for now, I'll just add it as it's own post.

The colors of the bars coordinate with the colors on the map (green = released, yellow = in development, etc.)
