Marviluck, Moderators aren't SCS employees and can't answer those questions. SCS staff have their names in gold.

If it contains any texture/art assets you can't release it publicly. But you can link to those assets in the DLC so that anyone who doesn't own it will see a red texture error.

I didn't know moderators couldn't answer these questions, will seek into contact proper staff then, thanks.
Well, about this, if we try to upload a mod with a def path in the .sii to a non-existent .pmd file, the workshop uploader tool won't allows us to upload it to steam at all. Unless I'm missing the point, hence my concern and look for clarification.

Models are a tough one, I would reach out to SCS about clarification on those ones. The way I understand it, you're only allowed to include models if you need to edit the model to make a new cargo work or something.
Generally speaking models are usually overlooked, so long as you only link to the textures in the DLC - I know there are other mods on Steam that do include just the model files, most likely for the same reason you're asking. But I would double check with @Max or via email just to be sure.

Quote removed - Don't quote the post above - Rule 2.12
I contacted some other staff member, but I will try to contact Max also then. And thank you, I'm a bit confused and kept thinking about this, hopefully I didn't screw up.

You add a line with dlc_dependencies[]: "package_name" and that's about it. You can read it further here: https://modding.scssoft.com/wiki/Docume ... od_manager

I have a question: does this limitation apply to the FIA ETRC trailers that are being modified for the current Work of Trucks event?

This limitation does not apply to event trailers. (The FIA ETRC event was 2 years ago).

Re: Steam inventory mods restiction discussion [Questions Answered]
Hello, i don't know if discussions here are closed, but as i'm working on mods right now and discovering how to mod DLC's some doubts come and i need to know if what i'm doing is correct.
Last month i started this mod: viewtopic.php?t=337725
And i've been working on create several skins for it, but additionaly i made them spawning with DLC trailers in traffic. I activated some specific trailers models to spawn with specific skins, for example, skin 1 with Krone Profi Liner, skin 2 with Schmitz SCS, skin 3 with Kogel Cargo, etc... But they also spawn with the non-branded trailers. Yet i noticed that, even you not owning trailers DLC's, they still spawn in traffic; for that i made a test with a friend who do not own any trailer DLC, and with a profile without mods. And we noticed that branded trailers are in fact spawing in traffic, but of course you cannot buy them in the Trailer Purchase menu.
My doubt regarding my mod is simple: Is it allowed having files activating DLC Trailers spawning in traffic with custom skins? Because to make that possible i have to use files such chassis files to be able to see them appearing in traffic(and such files are found in big files such dlc_krone, dlc_kogel, etc), apart from that just the regular files with definitions of chassis, paintjob and spawn ratio.
If is not allowed, then some changes will be prepared to separate those files and create an addon and lock it for DLC owners only see those trailers.

Re: Steam inventory mods restiction discussion [Questions Answered]
No. If it enables dlc content without the need to own said dlc it is piracy.
Also you should really be using the new base & dlc_x format for mods that include dlc things too. This will prevent dlc parts showing to users who don't own the dlc, without the need to make an addon mod.
