It's true that there haven't been any updates for quite some time, but developing truck mods takes time – especially when you have such a vast multitude of different projects like Smarty has. At any rate though, I'm sure he'd inform us if any of them were outright cancelled.

Yeah, that is true – from what I've heard it's quite a huge project, and I also don't think it'll be release-ready very soon.
But I'm definitely sure it's not cancelled – priorities between projects just shift sometimes.

Re: [WIP] GMC General
I always get shocked every time Smarty performs a release all of a sudden
He's an expert on that so I have no doubt this truck will be released someday.
After all, we should keep in mind he's mostly working on Pacific now since he finished (at the current stable release) the Paystar

It's quite a nice project, in fact, once it's released it'll probably be in my garage for a spin.

And as we already rock ours Pacifics at its finest (can't say for others, but I'm enjoying it quite a lot
), guess we got a chance this beauty might be released somewhere this year. Or kind of early 2026... but who knows!

Re: [WIP] GMC General
@PikPikker Not to speak for Smarty, but personally I find it highly unlikely the project'll be finished this year.
As far as I know, work has not started on the interior yet so I'd imagine it'll still be some time until the project sees a major update or release.
But, who's to say – everything above is just my personal prediction.
Either way though, I'm really looking forward to hearing more about this project too!
Whenever that may be.

Re: [WIP] GMC General
It'd be surely okay to postpone polishing some of the additional chassis/cabs for futher updates after the 1.0 release. (just like we had with the Pete 351)
Once again everything being told by me is my own prediction too and I'm not achieving to be "absolutely correct"
In fact we never know until it comes. And it's okay.
It's not a secret when you build lots of oldschool trucks it might come in handy to re-use and re-fit parts from your previous interiors to save you a whale of time - which gives us a chance it won't be that long as sculpting all of the things from scratch. But the second part may sound delicious for bringing us even more astonishing material which is always worth the wait
Lastly said, it is always okay to release mods whenever you like - already having such a nice garage by Smarty we are just noone to ask "more and more".
To be honest sometimes I'm losing myself when choosing which of (the ones ready to play) SCR trucks to drive, since they all are great yet each one is quite unique.

Re: [WIP] GMC General
Really glad to see there's still interest in this project, and it might get released. I drove one years ago. It's not the truck a Pete 359 is, but they were solid reliable working trucks, that drove pretty well. By no means super popular, but a worthwhile truck. These, and their cabover mates, the Astro 95, were a common sight back in the day.

Re: [WIP] GMC General
There's an aggregate company in my area that still runs something like 3 or 4 Generals. One's a float tractor and the rest are straight frame dumps. They always get a wave from me when I see them.
