I get that SCS is a European country, and that "tyre" is perfectly fine for ETS2.
But as ATS is based on the American continent, I feel that spellings should reflect North American English, instead of British English.
Can we please have "tire" and not "tyre"?

Reason: Moved topic from "American Truck Simulator > General Discussion about game" to "American Truck Simulator > Game Localization > Wrong Translations > English (US)"

You can change the regional language if I'm not mistaken which should have the NA spelling of words.

Yeah, it does sound like he has British English enabled and not American English enabled.

I reserve the right to be 100% wrong.
The angels cried and crooned, they offered me their vision of ghosts in every wall
I declined and held the line and watched the angels fall.

Sigh. Didn't see the option for American English when I set the new profile up. Saw "English" and ASSUMED it would be American specific. Guess not.
How about then, since there is an English (United States) option, to rename the English option to English (British)?
But then, the tire filenames are in British English.

g_lang en_us should set the game to american english, i know we have both options and the game comes natively with the Britisch englisch translations in the background (the reason why British englisch cant be modded in terms of driver names

Not a wasted topic as technically the spelling "tyre" is etymologically wrong. "Tire" is correct even by British standards. "Tyre" is merely an accepted spelling.
Your bad English is a lot better than Google Translate

Re: Can we please have "tire" and not "tyre"?
Well that's not completely correct. It was first used around 400 years ago, and got a revival in the 19:th century "tyre" and has since then been the common use in English speaking countries, except USA and Canada
