Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
supersobes York St, that would be a slight modification from IRL, skipping the Exit 275B itself.
Josephine Street or Blvd / Steele Street, that would be a bit bigger skip from IRL.
If SCS someday modifies this area, then it could be an acceptable solution? Or maybe SCS keeps it as a remainder of how it did look?

I'll also bring up the realignment of US 6 in Sterling, CO that opened up in September. Hopefully is SCS goes back to update I-70, they might update Sterling as well, though having to completely redo the town like that would probably be a big pain in the butt hahaha.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
We probably have what we have in Sterling. If Google Street view had it one way and SCS did that, they technically are not incorrect. Things will always change unfortunately. SCS would have to be in a constant state of updating older areas. As long as they are not base map quality, we may have to wait til time permits or no changes at all. Same thing with WY-22 and US-191 from the Jackson blog post. That intersection is completely different now and its a lot of work for SCS to change it now. I'd rather see missing roads like US-24 linking Limon and Colorado Springs, US-160 to US-385 (maybe with Oklahoma) or running US-34 all the way to I-76 from US-385. I'm willing to bet US-24, US-34 and US-160 run into Nebraska and Kansas when its time. I think East of I-25 should have a tad more density in Colorado still. Adding some more farm depots off US-160 and US-34 would be nice to add more density to farming in the plains of Colorado. With Wyoming so called bring live stock, another feedlot would be welcomed. That or a dairy farm, heck, add both.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Completely agree that there are more pressing things to add, and yeah it looks like street-view shows the construction but it's still pre-realignment so I get why they have it as the old way. I don't think they should chase these updates as you said. However, if we bring them to SCS's attention, it might be a good small project for a new mapper to edit in the new road if they ever have time. Super low priority but maybe one day they'll be able to get to it.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
The downside to a new mapper tweaking something old is when things were mapped different as in 2013-2016. If they are not revamping the entire area, it may be difficult for a newbie to modify something they were not trained to do. Prime example is Arizona. Most of it is okay but parts here and there are still base map like. A lot has changed since 2015-16 when Arizona was made. Lots more even changed from 2013-2015 when California and Nevada kicked in and if newer methods are used, that new person is lost. I remember someone from SCS mentioning this before and it makes since. Fix or tweak something old and it can break if you don't know what you are doing. That new person wasn't around to be aware of how it may have been put together from back in the day.
New people are better off with from scratch situations. That is why the new roads that we have gotten like CA-120, US-191, US-550 (NM), NV-140/OR-140, Clifton,AZ...those roads are easier on a new person. I'm not saying they can't do city tweaks or adjustments to an existing area, but it will be tricker. Leave that kind of stuff to a senior mapper. We as fans would benefit more from a newbie with a brand new road that we didn't have before. With so many new people that has joined the ATS map team, they were probably tossed right onto maps since they are new methods..Colorado, Wyoming, Texas and California since its getting scrapped are new people worthy. It sounds like SCS will hire a few more newbies though to join the rebuild team or switch some people around. Pull some vets for rebuilds or extra roads as they are faster. Put the newbies on the new content. Either way, I hope several new roads can come before the Great Plains are completed. Every state to date has missing roads that we all talk about.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
I'll be driving the old alignment for the last time in Friday as the shift is this weekend. It will be exciting when I go back down on Tuesday. From the tiny bit I see looks nice.

Well just went over the vidact for the last time. Going back up I'll be taking 470 to 76 because traffic starts getting nasty.
Also the frontage roads are not like Texas, they will be two ways just like they were before.

The frontage roads will be two way roads rather than one way roads? That's not what the project plans show. Did they change that last minute?
