[REL] Feldbinder KIP trailer pack v4.0.1 (07.12.23) [1.47-1.49]

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Thank you very much for adding this function, but as the partner tells you, they go backwards, but thanks again for your work.

I think yes...
Before anyone starts to ask: I will neither pay any money for that DLC, nor will I rewrite anything because of it.
In the last years, I spent several hundred hours in Blender / paint.net / GIMP, constantly improving and expanding my mods.
The fact that SCS didn't give a single word to me on this DLC in advance, leaves me under the impression that illegal re-uploads are not the only reason why modders get frustrated...

Why would SCS give you advance notice? (Even if they actually know your mod exists?)

If this is meant to be a question:
- to help avoiding sudden pitfalls for the 65,000 subscribers of my mod?
- to show that "working with the best community ever" is more than a marketing slogan?
If not - nevermind...
Re: [REL] Feldbinder KIP trailer pack v3.0 (27.08.22) [1.42-1.45]
@Madkine the question is justified. Certainly SCS cannot take every small modder into account, but when it comes to popular mods that have been around for a long time and presumably also gave SCS ideas, then SCS should certainly work together with a modder.
I am convinced that LadenSwallow's mod first gave SCS the idea to develop a Feldbinder DLC.
Now I would be interested to know whether DLC and mod get along.
Because I don't want to do without @LadenSwallow. If both are not possible, I don't attach any importance to the DLC. Because I know the quality and the functions of this mod and I am convinced of it.

@King Leo SCS didn't had the idea with the DLC. It was Feldbinder who approched them as mentioned by their representative in the stream.
General response:
And in general, I know perfectly fine how it is to work on a large scale mod that took hundreds of hours to work on, if SCS were to release a DLC of that brand, I'd be happy for it to see what they might have done better or what could be improved, because noone is perfect, no mod, no DLC and both can only get better from mutually shared knowledge.
And in the end we are just modders, nothing less, nothing more, we don't own any rights to the brands (in 99,9% of the cases), so there is no foundation given to be named in such a stream without causing potential issues. That Feldbinder's representative mentioned that there is a mod out there (yours) is already something no other modder has received before.
Regards.

Well said. I like the mod and I like the DLC. Both are welcome to coexist.

I dont think this mod will go out of business anytime soon, it adds alot to the game, and SCS version is currently buggy, latest I read is that although ADR option is aviable for trailers it does not add any ADR cargo to haul, it is just laughable. Keep up the good work LadenSwallow

@JUseeTV So I was not at all wrong in my assessment.
On the contrary, if the vehicle manufacturer even took the initiative because of the mod, that would be all the more reason for SCS to involve the modder, because after all, they also owe him the business contact.
But I don't think that modders and SCS should compete with each other, but rather work together.
That would be the right signal.
But I also agree with you that almost no modder pays royalties to the trademark owners.
I don't think that's a problem, as long as no profit is made.
The situation is quite different with paymods. Most of them are illegal, so I would never use paymods. But that is another topic.
Thanks for the information, I don't follow the streams because I don't understand enough English.
