MP8 MaxiCruise (one that is in game) is higher rev engine and its peek torque is in 1150/1400RPM range which is way higher then you can see on engines like DD15 or MX13 ,and that is why that truck cruise on higher rev... BTW, Anthem avg MPG is low to mid 8MPG, so no, its nothing out of ordinary...
Also in game Anthem cruising 65mph on 1400RPM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJWSdhvjhwU, while real Anthem (see screenshot) cruise on 1300RPM, so almost indentical...

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
The MP7s and the 415 MP8 torque bands start at 1000 rpm. Would be strange to design 6 engines for the truck but spec the trans for only 2 of them. 100 RPM doesn't seem like a big difference at glance, but if you're OTR and driving 600+ miles every day that 100 RPM could translate to ~.5 mpg. That adds up, quick.
I've noticed in some of the trans files they list the different ratios the trans comes with but ultimately only give us one to chose in game. I'm hoping they're working on a system where you can choose which ratio you want. For example:

I was disappointed to see the LT turning 1400 rpm at 65 too. Should've been ~1200ish for the A26/x15 Efficiency imo. But who knows, could just be oversight for now. You can spec a 1650tq rated trans to a 2050tq motor in game and not have any issues lol.SiiNunit

With a normal load weight at ~30000lb/40000lb I get 6.1 to 6.3 mpg when I reset my trip odometer AFTER I reached 65mph and I get arounud 5.7 mpg when I reset my trip odometer before I leave the yard of the current company I'm in.

tigolebitties:
Mack have 15 different inhouse (MP7/MP8 variations) engine options, and 2 inhouse (mDrive and mDrive HD for Heavy Duty) transmissions... mDrive is available in direct drive and overdrive option, and SCS included both of them (you can check sii files and compare ratios with real one specs, and its 1:1 copy&paste)... We dont have mDrive HD, but they are heavy duty so it would be even worse in top gear... You have all on their web page so you can check and not guess if would be "strange" or not... BTW, this is game not OTR real truck, so 100RPM difference is not worth of mentioning, and really, its hard for any game engine to simulate 1:1 whole truck ECU...

last time I checked, they just copied Volvo transmissions from ETS2. Changed rear ratio, left extra reverse gears which mDrive doesn't have, and renamed them.

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Its same transmission with same ratios. Only difference is that Volvo has two extra reverse gears... I moded sii file and remove those to see if it will make any difference, and its no difference whatsoever...

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
@NoDe31 The 6 Mack engines in the game is what I was referencing. I find it strange that SCS would chose a transmission that would only really benefit 2 out of those 6 engines. Even more strange is that they chose to have the direct drive run 1500 rpm at 65mph. The Anthem is an aero truck built for OTR, where efficiency is king. If this was the Granite or Pinnacle we were talking about it'd be a different story.
Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
They chose transmission that mac anthem have in its offer... What they should chose instead? DT-12? And again, where is problem with MPG? Because my avg is 8.2MPG on it, and i cruise 65MPH where its allowed...

No no, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the mDrive trans itself. It's the gearing I have issue with. That's dang good MPG, what weights are you running? I've never seen 8s on the Anthem except in Cali with light loads. I typically run 65mph and haul 20+ ton on weight with all the realistic fuel options on.

On that, generally the i-Shift in the USA usually have R3 and R4 locked out, it's an option to have those accessible, and not really an option that is that popular
