If they add San Jose, I hope they add I-238.
Nothing to say here anymore.
Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
I-238 as in what connects I-580 to I-5? More than likely it will all be labeled as I-580 but yes we need that to get to the I-5 corridor. I'm betting we get I-80 @ I-880, I-880 @ I-238, I-880 @ US-101 and I-880 @ CA-17/I-280. That would get us to
San Jose from the East and the South.

Actually, I believe that's I-205. I-238 connects I-880 to I-580, and it exists so you don't have to go down all of I-880, then 680, and then I-580 again. But having the I-205 route(whether signed as I-205 or I-580) would be great.

I was more or less just meaning in that direction of I-5. But technical speaking, I-205 to I-5 is only for Northbound I-5. I-580 to I-5 is for Southbound I-5. Either both 580 and 205 triangle have to come, or we get something on the Southbound side like CA-132 to travel both North and South. They gain more space for junctions with I-205 though as its spread out more than CA-132 allows.

Hopefully they do the whole I-5/I-205/I-580 triangle, using CA-132 would be too goofy IMO. I-205 could get a remote depot for Stockton in that big commercial area of Tracy. N MacArthur Dr would get us to both that and potential ag depots to the north.

Speaking of Stockton - I hope that sign will remain, it always makes me chuckle

I do hope they update it in the final version with homeless people hanging around.

Agreed. I think SCS will try the interstate approach. RacerToft got I-76/I-25/I-70 to work in Denver and it worked out very well. The junctions in Denver are larger and more complex too. That area probably had more limitations than what's here in California though. Something remote from Stockton or Modesto works. But it might be too tight/too small to get a depot inside this triangle considering Denver didn't. But what if we got CA-132 East of I-5 going toward farms? That could be the backroad to Modesto from I-5. We do know Modesto is coming. It and Stockton should have good economy. At I-5 and CA-132, its a clover junction. We have that prefab already so that saves time on assets as its smaller than some of the much larger junctions in the mega cities.oldmanclippy wrote: ↑17 May 2023 21:38 Hopefully they do the whole I-5/I-205/I-580 triangle, using CA-132 would be too goofy IMO. I-5 and CA-99 is loaded with agriculture though. Bushnell and Sunshine Crops is not going to cut it anymore for California as a whole. We need quite a few more. We need new ones. They can't use Golden Meadows or Great Pastures either because they are copies of Bushell and Sunshine to begin with. Time to bring brand new farms. We need at least one new Dairy farm and I'd say at least 2 new produce farms in order for Central California. One produce farm per city is not capturing the agriculture in California imho. 2-3 farms in the remote areas can eat up space to make farming valid off I-5 and CA-99. I'm not to confident this rebuild will get that deep with new ag companies and it will be a bit disappointing. This is the best chance to fix the agriculture industry in California. But I'd be super happy to be wrong on this one. Like I said, 1 new dairy can work for all of California to give us 2 total but we seriously need no less than 2 new produce farms. That would give us 3 total for California. In all honestly I'd say 2 produce farms and 1 nut farm. We did not get Saimon's Pecans in Texas so maybe California brings us a nut farm. California is one of the leading states in a few types of nuts. So between produce, dairy, fruit orchids and nuts.........California needs a proper update if its going to capture the ag industry.

Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
According to google maps, it appears that CA-132 is a freeway at this spot, and then there's a short gap until Modesto, and it becomes a freeway again before meeting CA-99. That is definitely what I would consider a necessary route if it connects I-5 and CA-99, and is a freeway mostly. Though I hope they add CA-4 freeway in Stockton, as that is a freeway it's entire route(Well, not exactly, but the connection from I-5 to CA-99 is a full freeway). I think SCS should add CA-4 in the game again, but as a freeway. The portion from Stockton to Antioch is not a freeway, but the freeway starts up again, and based on the scale of the map, I think it would be acceptable for the entire route to be a freeway in the game. But would it even fit? Whether it does or not, we at least need the portion from CA-99 to I-5, and the Port of Stockton. I'd highly prefer CA-4 through stockton over any other way to/from I-5 and CA-99 over other routes, but they're fine to be added in the game. The rest of CA-4 is not necessary because I-580 will take you to the same area. Also, If I made any sort of mistake, please tell me.flight50 wrote: ↑17 May 2023 23:56 But what if we got CA-132 East of I-5 going toward farms? That could be the backroad to Modesto from I-5.
