With the upgrade to California Phase 3, a direct connection to Interstate 80 to California State Route 89 passing through Tahoe City is also feasible by putting US-50 between Sacramento and Carson City as a new road on ATS and passing near Lake Tahoe ?

89 is a nice route but it really only benefits Truckee. Kinda of like too little gain sort of deal for the amount of work required. With Reno connecting to I-80 with I-580, SCS could see CA-89 as not worth the time if I-580 is just up the road.

But on the other hand, if they want to really showcase their skill and love for lakes, they can added it. But that would be mapping around 50% of the Lake. The lake would need to be a pretty big size in order to map 50% of it. That creates a lot of extra work for little gain. They could use that same manpower to just rework all of Carson City instead of mapping CA-89.

I just drove up the lower part of 395 for the first time today and was disappointed not to see Red Hill! It's like the land mark for that otherwise dull area of the southern part of the drive. http://geotripperimages.com/images/DSC0 ... %20395.jpg

Oh, Red Hill https://www.google.com/maps/@35.9775208 ... 384!8i8192
SCS has not redone that area in the phases yet.
Maybe there could be space to add it? maybe?

 Good Thing I-80 from Sacramento to Reno can be rebuilt on computer screen. The elevation climb to Reno the Central pacific railroad had challenges just to build railroad up mountain in 1860s.

They rebuilt Sacramento to Truckee already. It would be Truckee to Reno. If they don't head to Nevada phase one after this Phase 3 California, it's gonna be a long wait til they go East of Truckee unfortunately.

Let's just say we had all the states released, and the base maps are in the current state. Are you willing to travel north from Sacramento to Seattle for the I-90 just to head east?

What you said gave me an idea. I'm not sure if SCS consider to rebuild NV before whole CA but if they try to rebuild whole NV before South CA, that would be a fresh breath for both us(customers) and SCS. At least, we can go back and drive in NV once again. Most of us find unbearable to drive in NV after new states. It would be "fresh breath" for me to drive in NV. Thus, they can have an excuse to slow down in South CA. South CA is huge staff but 2 lanes in desert (Nevada) won't make them tired.

^All of Nevada or 50% of Nevada before California is complete works for me and I'm sure a lot of others. The problems is California is on the coast. Nevada and Arizona are attached to better quality states. That makes Nevada and Arizona have gaps unfortunately. I agree doing Nevada helps a lot. Arizona can come after California for sure but Nevada at least links Oregon, Idaho and Utah. Getting to Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska is much much easier with a rebuild Nevada first.

Most importantly for me is don't rush Southern California. Give it time for have newer technology hit once the game engine updates. We didn't get busier traffic with Texas that some see has a miss. Don't repeat with LA and San Diego. The Bay Area will be like Texas unless the engine update comes with 1.48 as well.

Southern Cali needs all new assets. That gives a lot of time for the asset team to make models if Nevada came first or at least 50% of Nevada.
